The option to generate captions/transcriptions for videos stored in SharePoint/OneDrive has been working fine in our tenant for months, but yesterday users started reporting an error message. When attempting to generate captions, the message indicated that the request could not be completed. By late evening (10 PM EST), the request process was working, but as of 9:30 this morning, no captions have been generated, even for very short videos. There's nothing in the Service Health section of the admin center, so not sure what's going on. EDIT: I just tried requesting captions in another tenant and am getting the same message as yesterday We're having trouble generating a transcript and captions right now. I'm a high school teacher from Australia. I've been using FLIP teaching for mathematics for a while now. Since our school moved over to microsoft stuff, I started hosting my videos on Stream. The autogenerate captions is ON by default, so I just left them since my students get a kick out of how badly it interprets my Aussie accent. I assumed that whatever dictionary the words were drawn from wouldn't include offensive words or would censor them. However, just yesterday one of my students pointed out that the autocaptioning was putting "n****r" (censoring mine) into the autocaption without censoring when I said "megalitre". Now, I understand that the autogenerator is completely garbage at interpreting me - that's not my problem - I'm unimpressed that "n****r" is even turning up uncensored, especially when it its being put into a video that couldn't be further removed from that. Now I have to go through all my videos and turn off the autocaptioning. I recommend Microsoft correct their Autocaptioner. Screencap of video and uncensored captioning is attached.Transcript not working
Hi, Example: 00:10.000 --> 00:11.000 Caption (subtitle) is visible. Timestamp in transcript is wrong. Result: can't jump to scene. 00:10:00.000 --> 00:11:00.000 Caption isn't visible. Timestamp in transcript is correct. Result: Can jump to scene. However the caption is not visible. Why is this? It seems to me to be a bug.Stream Captions imported file not loading
Hello, I've uploaded a video where the primary language is French. I've set the language to English to generate a bad caption file. I've downloaded and modified the bad english caption to a passable French and have uploaded it as both captions and subtitles. After uploading none of the captions show up under several different browsers. I've edited the timestamps as well as the language content. Is there a different way to do this? Thanks, -DanCaptions showing letters with accents as '?'
I'm deploying a video to a dozen different countries, so I have a dozen different VTT files so viewers can select the language they want when they're watching the video. However, all letters with accents are currently being replaced with a '?' in a diamond instead of the actual letter. This means that countries like Spain, Portugal and Sweden are having a lot of trouble reading the captions. Is there a way to fix this myself? Or is it a bug that needs a central fix?Solved5.7KViews2likes4Comments
