Account Management
151 TopicsDesktop Click (lower right taskbar) pointing to wrong desktop
I have 2 accounts on my laptop. Have enabled "Select the far corner of the taskbar to show the desktop" but it goes to the wrong account. I am signed in under the correct account, one drive syncs to the correct account, all the apps are signed in to the correct account, the correct account is in settings. But the desktop that shows and that taskbar icon in the right corner goes to the wrong desktop and I cannot figure out how to change it. Current desktop: C:\Users\user\OneDrive – MSFT This is the default desktop on my laptop. It’s the wrong account. The correct account is : "C:\Users\user\OneDrive" (personal) How do I switch from the first account to the second one – for the desktop to be correct? PS - I have wasted 4 hours already with 3 different MS departments who think live chat is the answer - and they each keep trying to pass me off to the next one. It's like they get a bonus for doing nothing, knowing nothing, keeping me on live chat for hours, only to tell me it's my job to contact the next department and start over. Nice job, MS.18Views0likes1CommentCreating a Comprehensive Inactive Guest Account Report
Many examples of how to report inactive Entra ID guest accounts with PowerShell are available on the internet, but they're all flawed because they make decisions based on the last sign in. That's a shortsighted method because it doesn't take guest activity into account. This article explains how to combine audit data with sign-in data to create an enhanced view of guest account activity so that intelligent decisions can be made to keep or retain the accounts. https://practical365.com/inactive-guest-account-report/16Views0likes0CommentsSubject: Microsoft Account “YuBanMe41Day” Compromised — Need Help Submitting Full Evidence
Hi everyone, My Microsoft account (YuBanMe41Day) was recently compromised after I fell for a phishing scam. I know it was a mistake, and I’m doing everything I can to recover the account. I’ve already used the official recovery form, but it doesn’t allow me to include all the evidence I have proving ownership. Here’s what I can provide: - PP account name used for past purchases - Credit card holder information linked to the account - Proof that I’m still partially logged in on my iPad (Microsoft services still show the account, but I’m asked to sign in again when I try to access anything) - Account history such as purchased games, achievements, and activity - Old Gmail and Microsoft passwords and related account information Is there a way to submit this evidence directly to a Microsoft Support agent or escalate the case so it can be reviewed by a human instead of the automated form? I’m worried the standard recovery system won’t accept all the proof I have. Thank you for taking the time to read this — any advice or official contact path would be greatly appreciated. — Nesim22Views0likes0CommentsIs hsprotect.net a Microsoft property? Graph authentication
Running connect-mggraph, I get the IE "Sign in to your account/Verify your identity" windows. The first time through, it presents several of the "Trusted Sites" dialogs, to add various MS URLs to the trusted zone. One of them is https://iframe.hsprotect.net. The WHOIS for this domain does not list Microsoft. It's NameCheap, with "withheld for privacy" addresses in Iceland. Microsoft does not document this domain anywhere, though A.I. claims/hallucinates that MS uses it for protection-related telemetry and is certain it's in the Defender API guide. Can anyone confirm what's going on here?43Views0likes0CommentsBest Practices for Sharing Community Updates with Microsoft 365
Hello, I manage an online community and use Microsoft 365 to keep members informed by posting announcements in Teams, storing patch notes and FAQs on SharePoint, and automating alerts with Power Automate. This workflow worked well for our latest update (shared on [https://nullsbrawl.tech/](https://nullsbrawl.tech/)), but I’d appreciate suggestions on improving SharePoint design for better engagement, automating updates more efficiently, and tracking which members read the announcements.22Views0likes0CommentsBioEnrollmentHost.exe failes setting up Windows Hello (August 2025)

Dear Team, I’m currently experiencing an issue with Microsoft 365 Business Basic. I’m trying to purchase a domain and set it up with an Exchange Online mailbox, but I’ve run into several roadblocks when attempting to report the problem: I’m using a personal account and cannot reach Microsoft Business Support. Consumer Support was unable to assist or escalate the issue to a business support case. The Qatar toll-free number is not working. Given these challenges, I’m unsure how to proceed with resolving my initial issue related to the M365 account setup. I would appreciate any guidance on how to access the appropriate support channels. Thank you for your assistance. Best regards,95Views0likes2CommentsI Can't use my own name to create a new Microsoft account in India.
I am an Indian Microsoft user, my full name is Aryan Rajput, which is legally registered by my parents in my country Republic of India. I don't know any norms of European countries about registering names, I don't know what restrictions are made, I can clarify my name, in my present situation is legal and legit. Moreover, none of my associates (including my parents) are pro-Nazi, and let me tell you leader of Nazism (I don't want to tell his name here hence I might be banned maybe) inspired by Indian culture and adopted terms like my name (Aryan means noble). Hence Microsoft should allow me to adopt my name in creating new account, because it's my right! At least they must allow in India where it is legal I hope the management would take necessary steps accordinglySolved153Views0likes3Commentsrecovering Microsoft 365
I mistakenly uninstalled my MS 365 software. I went to a MS site to recover it. Very difficult to maneuver around, but in all the confusion I eventually asked for the free 5 day version and also asked for the regular version. After a long time (overnight) I noticed my MS 365 was back. But I don't know if it was the 5 day version or the permanent version. I will know in 5 days of course but would like to know sooner. How would I find outy? Glenn43Views0likes1Comment
