Re: Securing Wiki
ThanksChristianBergstromI will look into that. I was also thinking about using Sharepoint site pages but OneNote would be easier to manage. I have never tried to secure OneNote in Teams and it would be interesting to see how it works since the Wiki is actually built on OneNote.24KViews1like0CommentsRe: Securing Wiki
ChristianBergstromthanks, This is the first thing I tried and members are still able to change the Wiki. I asked the same question during Colab365 recently and the general consensus was securing a wiki goes against the principles of a wiki, sharing i.e. if you feel that you need to secure information in a wiki it is probably the wrong tool to use. While I agree with the sentiment I am a bit baffled by the fact that I can set access permission but it does not have any impact24KViews0likes2CommentsRe: How can I bulk invite the team to a meeting?
karim7x That is weird. I also tested it with external members (guests) and even they get the invite without me having to specify them in the invite if they are team members. The only thing I can think of is that it is related to how your tenant is set up, maybe there is a configuration parameter that needs to be set but I know too little about that to really say.245KViews0likes0CommentsSecuring Wiki
I want to secure a wiki. I have changed the access privileges in SharePoint to Read Only for Team members but they are still able to edit the wiki. The weird thing is that if I open Sharepoint then the latest Modified Date and User is not in line with what happened on Teams. I am clearly missing something. Any ideas?Solved24KViews0likes6CommentsCannot open PDF in Teams
I have been granted edit access to a file in a team but when I access the share link I get the following message in Teams (desktop) This item might not exist or is no longer available This item might have been deleted, expired or you might not have permission to view it. Contact the owner of this item for more information. When I then open the file in Sharepoint via the Elipsis menu option it open fine in Sharepoint. Any ideas why this is happening?2.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: How can I bulk invite the team to a meeting?
Diddy974I agree with the solutionChrisHoardMVPproposed. I was taken aback a bit when it was stated that this does not work (no need to add attendees) since it has always been my experience that that is the way Teams work. So I tested it to make sure I did not imagine things and it works perfectly. If you do not specify any attendees when you schedule a meeting from Teams all the members of the team will get a meeting invite. Obviously it must be a Channel meeting i.e. there must be a valid entry in the Channel input.247KViews1like9CommentsLimit 'Open' options for Office documents
Scenario: MS Office documents are uploaded to Teams (Sharepoint) Problem: Some of these documents such as Excel have VBA code that fires on workbook activation. The Open with Excel Online allows users to bypass this code. Question: Can the 'Open' options for documents be controlled to remove the ability to open online?Solved1.2KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Restrict meeting chat view for part time attendees
ParLinderoththanks, that is what I was fearing. It would have been good if the chat visibility started and ended as a member enters and exits the meeting. While the solution proposed by you is simple and workable it does rely on a process which, as we know, is something that can be sidestepped unintentionally.4.9KViews0likes3CommentsRestrict meeting chat view for part time attendees
Scenario: A scheduled meeting between Paul and Mary is being conducted. A question arises that needs input from John so they invite him. Once he responded to the question he leaves the meeting which continues with Paul and Mary. Problem: John still has access to the chat so everything Paul and Mary shared in the chat after John left can be seen by him. Question: How can I prevent John from seeing the chat after he left the meeting?Solved5KViews1like5Comments
