SharePoint migration with metadata assignment
Hello Community, We have set up some standard document libraries with customized metadata columns (in Term Store) across a site collection. Now we want to migrate our files from a legacy system with a folder tree structure to designated sites and their document libraries with applied metadata. Is there a tool to automate this migration process rather than manually uploading files from a folder to a document library on a site and manually assigning metadata? Thanks so much!1.1KViews0likes1CommentModified Date column only updates at the file level not the folder level
Hi Community, I uploaded a new document a few mins ago to the folder titled "Architect" in this screenshot. I was hoping the "Modified" column would be updated so shared users could see it was updated. But I can only see updated Modified when I click into the folder (at the file level). any idea how I can get the folder to show it was updated without having to click into it? Hi there, I want to change the URL to a specific SharePoint site when clicking on "SharePoint" (red circled below). Can any experienced user let me know how to do so? Right now I can apply this change to the logo (white circled below). Thanks so much! Much appreciate it.603Views0likes0CommentsSharePoint Online - Content Type vs. View
Hi Community, I'm new to SharePoint and confused about Content Type and Views. Here is how I understand Content Type and View - Content Type is a group of document library columns (or metadata). For example, an content type called "Invoice" contains column Date, Invoice Number, Vendor. View provides a way to show filtered, sorted, or grouped columns in a list or library. For example, I can create a view called "Invoice" that only includes column Date, Invoice Number, Vendor. If my understanding is correct, Content Type is just like View where it saves the selected or filtered metadata. I know Content Type can also apply to workflow. But if I want to use a content type at the document library level, isn't it same as a view? Thanks so much for your help! LiliSolved2.1KViews0likes2Comments
