Excel issue
I'm using Office 365, have my spreadsheets on OneDrive. I keep hitting on this issue where all of a sudden, when working on a spreadsheet, freeze panes will be grayed out. Usually, I can save my file, reopen it, and freeze panes is available again. I do not use page layout view nor do I have any cells protected. Today, I am working on a very small, one worksheet workbook and I just cleared what I had frozen. Then after a bit, I decided to go ahead and freeze at row 5 (before I had frozen at a column and a row). Well, freeze panes is grayed out! I saved my file and reopened it and it is still grayed out. See screen shot below (I created a custom ribbon). I am so tired of dealing with this issue - it's ridiculous.1.1KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Copy worksheet does not include objects
mathetes Unfortunately, once I send out the workbook, it then gets routed around to different people in each org, so it's preferable to have the instructions "attached" to it. That's why I don't just put the instructions in the accompanying email when I send it out. They would never get followed if I did that. I do always format the instructions so that they print nicely in case someone is a "paper" person (as I am). Also I try to make them click as few times as possible to do anything, so embedding a PDF or something would be an additional step to open (and who knows if it would copy over either). And the reason I need to be able to copy this sheet is because I have my master workbook with say, all member/patient rows, that I then carve out by organization including only their particular members/patients, so I need to copy that instructional tab over and over again.2.8KViews1like0CommentsRe: Copy worksheet does not include objects
mathetes That aside, no bother to tell you what I am doing. I work for an ACO and so often I have to send spreadsheets with member lists / healthcare data out to the provider organizations in our ACO for them to "do something" with. So I always include a tab with instructions or specifications. I format these instructions to be somewhat lively so that the most important parts stand out. That's where arrows and text boxes come in. Example see attached (purposely blurry).2.9KViews0likes2CommentsCopy worksheet does not include objects
Hi, I have noticed this happening for a while. Say I have a simple tab/sheet in a workbook that has text in it plus a text box. When I copy this tab/sheet to another workbook, it works fine except it does not copy the text box. This is also an issue if there are any shapes, such as lines. Seems like this should be such an easy thing to do. To copy a tab/sheet, I am right-clicking on the tab/sheet name and selecting "move or copy" and going from there. Thanks! Specifics: I have Office 365, Microsoft 365 for Enterprise and am on the "Current Channel." I am on Windows 10 Professional.3KViews0likes4CommentsNot able to copy and paste two of six pie charts from Excel worksheet
If you look at the pie charts tab in the attached file, I have a note and arrows pointing to the bottom two pie charts. I am absolutely not able to copy either of these and then paste somewhere. I have tried CTRL-C, using the ribbon to copy as a picture, and using the ribbon to copy as a bitmap. Neither of them will go on my clipboard. I also tried a co-worker's PC and could not do it either. Please help. I need to add these to a presentation for my boss!! UPDATE: I have narrowed the issue down to the act of adding "values from cells" to the data labels on these two charts. I can copy them prior to adding "values from cells" and after adding them, the chart will not go on the clipboard.22KViews0likes20CommentsRe: Not able to copy and paste two of six pie charts from Excel worksheet
Riny_van_Eekelen This is interesting - thank you. I wonder if my data sheet is corrupted? I'll have to analyze each of the cells in the original sheet that appear on this particular graph. The version I attached doesn't have any formulas like my original, I did a copy/paste special/values in order to delete the sheets with PHI. I think I posted that I have tied this copy issue to the "values from cells" action for the data label. Before I do that, I can copy it fine. After I do that, I can no longer copy. FYI: I have another pie chart in this workbook that also has an issue with "values from cells," but it doesn't have to do with copying. When I include "values from cells" on the data labels, they just don't show up.19KViews0likes5CommentsRe: Not able to copy and paste two of six pie charts from Excel worksheet
JKPieterse I don't think it is the issue. All the pie charts have non-contiguous cells. I even completely recreated the chart on a new tab and it will not copy either. I started monitoring my clipboard, and the issue is that it won't go on the clipboard. I have a pie chart that is more complicated (more slices) and it WILL copy. Of course, I have an issue with that one too - I have tried to add "value from cells" to the data labels and they just won't show up. I should state that I am using Office 365 and from doing some searching, it may have some overall clipboard issues.19KViews0likes12CommentsRe: Not able to copy and paste two of six pie charts from Excel worksheet
JKPieterse You will not believe it - I converted all the pie charts to 2-D, copied one of the ones that will copy, changed the data to be the data from the first chart that would not copy, AND - that one will not copy either!!20KViews0likes14CommentsRe: Not able to copy and paste two of six pie charts from Excel worksheet
JKPieterse Thank you for taking time to see if you have the same issue. I will convert all pie charts to 2-D on your recommendation and just redo those charts. I've actually never used them before - usually use run charts. But need to be able to show parts of 100%. kb20KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Not able to copy and paste two of six pie charts from Excel worksheet
Riny_van_Eekelen Thank you! I checked and in Windows, I do not have that option. Unfortunately, I attached a very generic example of my workbook. I will convert all pie charts to 2-D on both of your recommendations. Thank you for taking the time to generate the pictures. kb20KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Pie Chart - legend missing one category (edited to include spreadsheet)
Debra Dalgleish Thank you. I did try un-merging them to see if that was the problem and it did not fix the issue, but I see now that the ones I un-merged were not the ones having the issue. Your suggestion has fixed the problem. I can't thank you enough!78KViews1like1CommentPie Chart - legend missing one category (edited to include spreadsheet)
I have set of pie charts and when I add data to some of them, there is one category name that is missing in the legend (it is also missing in the "Horizontal (category) Axis Labels," see below) even though I have selected it a million times! The data for this category does show up in the pie chart and the color for the category also shows up in the legend (see below). I tried putting the category name on the data label to see if it would show up, and it did not show up there either. I've also tried making the category name short, removing the legend & adding it back, and making the legend larger. None of these fixed it. I also deleted all the category labels, selected all new ones, and all 3 did show up. When I selected the real ones again, that one does not show up. This is driving me crazy. Please help. thanks!Solved79KViews0likes7Comments
