Re: Problem with footnotes
Hi, Are additional (blank) paragraph breaks inserted after each footnote, or only at the bottom of the page after a block containing multiple footnotes? A similar problem occurred in earlier versions of Word after style settings were changed. Which version of Word do you use? Are you working in Compatibility mode? Which template is used to create your documents? Does the problem still exist after opening a file by "Open and Repair"? Hi SDj1, One possible solution would be to first use Ctrl + H to replace the beginning of the text to be deleted with a unique marker (e.g., ## or “start of text”). In a second step, the end of the text to be deleted would also be replaced with a unique string (e.g., ++ or “end of text”). Finally, in a third step, you can use Ctrl + H (by using wildcards) to remove content between ## and ++. Robert, It is indeed possible for a Word document to become corrupted. Therefore, it may be a good idea to open a copy of the document using “Open and Repair” and continue working with that. Best regards, Lisa28Views1like0CommentsRe: MS Office Word numbered list formatting style bug
Hi backlit, I can't reproduce the bug. You want a paragraph - formatted with the "List Number" style - to restart at "1"? Instead, it continues counting from "12"? How did you set the numbering for List Number? Is List Number part of a list style and dependent on it? You are not using the Word Desktop App, instead Word Web App? PaulDHondt A colleague answered to me: "When an attendee uses a Microsoft Account (aka Live ID) instead of an M365 account, I have seen this. When he drops off the meeting and rejoins, each time the display name textbox adds additional characters. This is not specific to the Teams web client: 1. Join: John Doe 2. Join: “John Doe” 3. Join: \“John Doe\” 4. …. I suspect some sort of Html-encoding/decoding/security function." I guess, my colleague is right. Lisa4.9KViews0likes0CommentsTeams Creates Weird Names in Meetings
Sometimes weird names are created for participants of meetings, e. g.: \\\\"\\\\\\\"Forename Surname (Guest)\\\\\\\"\\\"\"" It happens for attendees, I added as members to a Team, but who are only "guests". When they try to take part in a scheduled meeting and have to enter a name, Teams adds backslashes before and also behind the name. It happens not for all attendees, and the number of slashes varies. I already posted the question in another forum, but nobody seems to know the reason for this weird behavior: Meetings - Teams Creates Weird Names - Microsoft Community Best regards, LisaSolved5.1KViews1like2CommentsRe: Switching from OpenOffice to Word, Problems with document, spacing, comments and tracking changes :)
DivineKataroshie Hi, Disable "Review | Tracking | Track Changes" to turn off Track Changes. After that you can, for example, "Accept All Changes". Have a look at following article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/track-changes-in-word-197ba630-0f5f-4a8e-9a77-3712475e806a Best regards, Lisa1.8KViews0likes1Comment
