How to assess impact of Office 365 with Citrix
As an IT admin, how does one assess and test user experience and performance of using Citrix with SharePoint Online and One Drive for Business? What tools on the client side can one recommend and what kind of metrics should one look for? Any best practices would be appreciated.1.8KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Microsoft Flow and document lifecycle for approving major versions
Jeremy Thake Christian Glessner I got it working the other day and thanks for the comments. Upon Item selected trigger, I set content approval status to submit. After approval action, I set content approval status to 'approve', but the trick is to click on 'advanced' and you will see a field to enter ETag. So add the ETag that is the output of the first content approval status action. Therefore, document becomes approved in the doc library. There should be a new trigger when from the Doc Library, when a user submits a doc for content approval. Thank you again.Re: Microsoft Flow and document lifecycle for approving major versions
I am also trying to publish a document by using a flow action "Set content approval status". The document is in draft state. I get an error the flow debugger { "message": "The current state of the item is Draft and the following action Approve cannot be implemented\"\r\nclientRequestId: fdb16f40-8072-400b-xxxxxxx", "status": 502, Appreciate any guidance.Re: Azure B2C as a Claims Provider to ADFS 2016 to use with federated partners
Are you you setting SharePoint or a general web app as the relying parting? I am interested in your use case with Azure AD B2C. I tried with Azure AD with ADFS 2016 against sharepoint, but this wouldn't work as Azure AD currently doesn't support SAML 1.1 which SP needs. I hear this may be supported in AAD in future. In future, I want to try B2C as this would be great for external collaboration scenarios. I have actually tried and quite successful with Auth0 as the SSO broker. But you obviously have to pay considerably.3.3KViews0likes0CommentsClaims based authentication with SSRS/Power BI Server?
Just wondering if it is possible to have claims based authentication with Power BI Server? Been asking in the MVP DLs but no response. I know it is not supported out of the box, perhaps possible with with WAP and ADFS which I have setup with SP only. I cam across this to support IOS mobile app, but not sure if it helps me. https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-mobile-oauth-ssrs/?mobileclient=ios The goal is to support single sign on with SharePoint Server and Power BI Server (native) with external access. No windows NTLM.2.7KViews1like0CommentsRe: Moving our infrastructure to AZURE
A good place to start is 1. Create your Azure Virtual Network 2. Deploy necessary servers, AD domain controller, web server, db server, file server 3. To add layer 7 protection, there is Azure web application firewall that serves up an https/ssl public endpoint to your CRM 3. Consider site to site VPN to your corporate network to this azure virtual network. Once comfortable with this then leverage Express Route. 4. Pricing: azure pricingin calculator but this is rough estimate, but once you have this POC environment you can track cost consumption on a daily basis. Let me know any further questions1.9KViews2likes0CommentsSP 2013 with SQL 2014, BUT install SQL 2016 Reporting services (integrated mode)
Can we have SP 2013 with SQL 2014, BUT install SQL 2016 Reporting services (integrated mode) into SP WFE server. But no SQL Server 2016 installation. If SP 2013 supported SQL 2016, then this would be better, but it doesn't. We want to avoid two SQL licenses for 2014/2016 https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/install-windows/supported-combinations-of-sharepoint-and-reporting-services-server1.2KViews0likes1CommentRe: SP Online and contractors
Hi Salvatore, The documentation to backup my opinion is what has Paul has been sharing. As well as a discussion I had with an MS account manager a year ago. I can't really recall his exact words though, but that was my take away. I feel this doc/sentence is up for interpretation so I suggest to speak with an MS representative.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: SP Online and contractors
Hi Paul, So where I came to my determination was with a call with an MS account manager about a year ago about assessing SP Online for external sharing. I can't recall the exact words, but it was my general take away. The word contractor here is vague. To make sure, you would have to discuss with an MS account manager or maybe create a support ticket to get this question answered. Or maybe Salvatore has some documentation to backup his claim.6.1KViews0likes8CommentsRe: SP Online and contractors
Vivek, I have to say that your first paragraph is not true. You can indeed have a gmail address granted that you create an MS account with it. Even corporate email addresses too. Have you tried? I have a handful of times. Once you do that, you can do external sharing with that email address.6.2KViews1like1CommentRe: SP Online and contractors
If the contractor is considered 'outside the organization' as a vendor and works off site rather than on-site, then you can share. For example, if you hired a contractor and you gave them a desk, laptop and corp email address, then they need a license. For 'outsiders' and they have their own email address, then you can share site or documents as an external user. The outsider contractor would have to create an MS account and there user id would be their email address.6.2KViews0likes14CommentsRe: Site collection creation via Admin center taking over 30 minutes
The resources is for sandbox solutions. If you aren't using them, just set to 0. https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Manage-SharePoint-Online-server-resource-quotas-for-sandboxed-solutions-90e4eaaa-899a-48d6-b850-f272366bf8cc I don't think this is related.2.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Site collection creation via Admin center taking over 30 minutes
For me provisioning site collections takes several minutes or longer. I had a instance where it was taking very long or errorred out. I checked if there was some service disruption and there was, so try looking there if problems persist. You can always give support a call.2.8KViews0likes2Comments
