Microsoft/SharePoint lists - error messages, new feature?
We've recently noticed what I think is a new feature in Microsoft lists - an icon appears immediately following the list name that indicates there has been issues saving items. When clicking on this icon you get taken to a list of all items that have not saved. Above the list title, there are buttons that allow you to 'Discard all' or 'Save all'' I'm trying to find documentation about this feature so I can understand what my users are supposed to do when these error messages come up. Online searches have so far proved fruitless. Grateful for any info anyone can provide.202Views0likes4CommentsRe: Private drafts stay private even after publishing
gavincompton- if you look at the permissions for your site pages library, you'll find that the page that was created as a private draft probably has unique permissions. If you re-inherit parent permissions, this should sort out any issues your users may have accessing the page127Views0likes0CommentsRe: SharePoint Lists - Bad optional access / Invalid argument numericid
CaitlinAO This happened for me today too. However, I found a workaround: Go to the classic 'site manager' interface (put the string /_layouts/15/sitemanager.aspx after your site name - note you need site collection admin permissions to access this) Choose the list where you are getting the errors Select the items you want to delete, then Actions>Delete, then Okay when it asks if you are sure you want to delete. When you return to the list in the Modern interface, you may need to refresh a few times but eventually you should see that the unwanted items have been removed from the list.1.9KViews2likes1CommentRe: Anyone not able to add new members/guests or even channels in the new Teams preview?
Hi a-chris Confirming that we have same issue with the new Teams app currently in preview. Adding a new channel is an essential requirement for Team owners in the app. Given announcement indicates standard release rollout is about to commence fairly soon we find the absence of this feature a bit concerning. Update 8.38 AEST- In the Features section of https://adoption.microsoft.com/en-us/new-microsoft-teams/ (last updated 12 April 2023) it says they are still working on: Teams and channel creation, cross-posting, and channel announcements among other thingsApprovals don't seem to land in Activities as they do in existing Teams App
Dear new Teams app developer team In the current Teams app, approvals are included in a users' 'Activity' area of the app. This provides quick access for approvers to requests for approval. In the new Teams app in preview, users need to select the ellipses to select approvals , then list of awaiting approvals is available. The behaviour of current Teams app is preferred as it reduces the number of clicks approvers need to make to find and process approvals. Please ensure new Teams app behaves same way as old Teams app. Thanks JennyRe: Mark All Messages As Read
SeanS There is a suggestion in the Microsoft feedback portal- If you haven't already done so I recommend that you go upvote it. The more votes, the more likely Microsoft will put it in their development backlog. Seeking advice from the community prior to raising as an issue with Microsoft. I have a SharePoint Online site collection where the owner only wants to retain 100 major versions of their files, and the versioning settings have been set up this way for the document library - i.e. versioning is set to Create major and minor (draft) versions, and the "Keep drafts for following number of major versions" is set to 100. Suffice it to say this setting is not working and documents still have all their versions retained despite many exceeding v 100.0 The only thing that I can think of that might be causing the versioning setting not to operate is the fact that the site also has a compliance policy that blocks deletion - i.e. everything kept forever. Unfortunately, our organisation not mature enough in its use of Purview to have anything more granular in place. I have searched online to see if there is any information about whether a compliance policy like this will prevent the version history settings from working and have so far haven't had any luck finding a definitive answer. I was hoping a member of the community, or any Microsoft staff who might be monitoring this discussion board would be able to confirm that the compliance policy is basically overriding the version limit setting. Thanks in advance Jenny1.8KViews0likes1CommentRe: SharePoint Online's "Move To" feature no longer showing my sites
Hi Mysticode - I have this problem too, and it's a right pain. The original Move documents was okay, if not super intuitive for new users but it functioned. For a while, I too could see sites that I followed, but now I get an extremely limited number of site collections that I can move files to. I thought the new interface was more intuitive and the only thing it needed for improvement was to allow for a search for a site - very important when you work in a large enterprise as I do and have hundreds of SharePoint site collections The move document tool is now completely inadequate. I have to resort to downloading and uploading files. So frustrating and extremely disappointing when it was at least functioning previously. I don't recall seeing any advice in the message centre about proposed changes to the Move documents tool, and not really certain that this is something that needs to be reported as an issue or if the changes are 'by design' but the relevant development team has just forgotten to communicate changes with users. Please any Microsoft folk reading this - get this fixed asap or at least let us know what's going on.18KViews2likes0Comments
