Re: Windows 10
Updating the drivers will be a good place to start as Kapil recommended. Open the Lenovo Vantage application, and check for updates, and install all available updates. You will likely need to reboot the computer when complete. Also run Windows Update to ensure everything is up to date, and reboot if prompted. If the issue persists, I'd try opening the videos in a different browser to see if you still encounter the issue. If you don't have the issue with the different browser, I'd ensure your primary browser is up to date, and I would also try temporarily disabling any browser plugins to see if that helps. Let us know how it goes.25Views0likes0Comments- 2.4KViews0likes0Comments
Re: Phishing Emails
ElieAT DKIM can help with certain aspects of this. If needed, I have included a couple links below for more information. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/office-365-security/use-dkim-to-validate-outbound-email?view=o365-worldwide https://www.csoonline.com/article/3402016/3-email-security-protocols-that-help-prevent-address-spoofing-how-to-use-them.html Kind regards, David2.4KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Phishing Emails
Hi Elie, Unfortunately this is a pretty common tactic for scammers. Here are some ways they can do this. 1) The scammer can create a free online email account, and use the employees name as their display name. In this scenario, you would receive an email that may look like it comes from the employee, and would have their name in the email field, however if you hover over their name you may see the email address is not from the employees actual address. 2) The scammer may be using a more sophisticated method to spoof the email address of the employee, and in this case both the display name, and actual email address is shown, which adds to the deception over the previous method. In this scenario, the EOP or similar protection can help mitigate this. 3) The scammer may have compromised the employees email account, and are sending emails directly from the employees compromised account. If you have confirmed this is the case, then the employee will need to change their password imminently. If not done so already, it is recommended to also enable Multi-factor Authentication for the entire organization. Hope this helps. Regards, David2.5KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Group apps in start menu
This is a good suggestion. Many people have suggested this functionality in the Feedback Hub for Windows 11. Perhaps they'll add the functionality in a future update. If you haven't done so already, you should make a suggestion for this request in the Feedback Hub... The more the merrier. soahmed Thanks for marking the answer as helpful. In case you still need more info to get into the Feedback Hub, I've included a link below. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/send-feedback-to-microsoft-with-the-feedback-hub-app-f59187f8-8739-22d6-ba93-f66612949332 Thanks, David809Views0likes0CommentsRe: Upgrading Windows 10 to 11
Deleted I'm liking most stuff so far. I myself prefer the taskbar on the bottom, so the Windows 11 taskbar only having the option to be on the bottom is okay with me, however it is a good point brought up by many people to have the option to be able to move it to either the side, or the top of the screen. Hi John, Thank you for the additional info. I have seen this issue in a couple different situations. Has anything recently changed, like a migration, or change in licenses? Lets get some more info. Sorry if this is things you've already tried. I've included a few screenshots below that will guide you to the right area from within the Admin Center. If the settings are the same as per the screenshots, I recommend deselecting "Turn on Microsoft Teams for all users", then save. Then go back and turn it on again. Could you also check your user account under the license tab as per the screenshot below, and see if Teams is selected under the "apps" dropdown menu? If it is, I would also deselect then save, then reenable it. I'd give it up to an hour to churn away, then logout, then back into Office 365 from the web browser, and try Teams again. If you can't find some of these options, could you provide a screenshot of what you see? Please remove any sensitive info from the screenshots before posting. Hope this helps. Hi John, That's no fun. Is this for a business Microsoft 365 account? What license is assigned to your user account? If you go into the Admin Center, select your user, then select licenses apps on the bottom, is the Teams app disabled? Also any chance you had a trail for Teams? True, I did end up seeing that, however this program did offer a certificate through edX, but no longer. It would be nice to still have that. I see others on Linkedin display this course and link the certificate on their profile, just would be nice to be able to do the same.3.7KViews1like1CommentRe: User Adoption Specialist Certification
Glad I found this. I also just took the course through Microsoft Learn, and in the article it mentions to obtain the certificate, you have to also complete the course with edX. I signed up with edX, then took the course there as well, then I found out the program was moved to MS Learn, and they don't offer the certificate from there anymore. I noticed in Karuana's latest article, she mentions a badge will be rewarded if the email for both MS Learn and the edX are the same. In my case they are, however I signed up for edX after completing the course on MS Learn, so not sure if that will be a concern. I'm not sure where to obtain the badge that Karuana mentioned. Do any of you? Thanks, David3.7KViews0likes3CommentsServer 2016 - Publisher Unknown - Certificate Issues - KB5000803
Hi Everyone, Since the release of KB5000803/KB5000808, we have had our fair share of client issues, mostly pertaining to printers, however one of our Windows 2016 servers seems to be suffering from a few issues just after this update, which we can't explain. OS in question is Windows Server 2016, Build 14393.4283. I noticed when opening Active Directory Users and Computers, I got a red UAC prompt saying "This app has been blocked for your protection", and mentions the publisher is unknown. The only option it gives is to close the box, so I can't get into ADUC. I then started opening other programs that require elevation, and have the same issue. The only was I can get into the apps, is if I open an elevated command prompt, and open the app from there. We are also getting bluescreens upon every boot "Critical Service Failed" 0x0000005a. The only way we can boot, is to disable driver signing. We have attempted to remove the patch, however the process fails and reverts, so we can't get rid of the patch. We have also run through standard troubleshooting including DISM restore health and SFC scans, however nothing helps. It also look as system restore is not available, and we can't restore either. We currently have a case open with Microsoft support, but we're not getting very far at the moment. Has anyone run into this issue, and have any advise? Thanks, DavidSolved2.2KViews0likes5Comments
