View and Sort descending within folder
Hello,
is there a way to sort and display a library in such a way that I can see folders in the first level. There can be subfolders, but also files in the second level of folders. The user wants the first level of folders to be sorted by the last modified file within the folder or even within a subfolder of the second level, so the first level folder should be first or second in the view according to the last modified date (i.e. the folder in which something was first modified within the folder is at the top). I hope I was able to explain what my goal is.
Cheers Andre
AndreRadtke Modified date of folder in SharePoint document library will not change if new files added/ or existing files edited inside the folder.
Modified date of folder only changes when you change the create a new folder, rename an existing folder or change any metadata associated with the folder.
Check below threads for more information:
- SharePoint folder "modified" date not accurate
- Update the folder content it doesn't update last modified field
- SharePoint - Modified date for a folder is not updated when a subitem is updated

- AndreRadtkeBrass ContributorSad to say that, but it is not a solution for me. I need to sort the folders by the modified Date of the files or folders within the folder. How can I achieve that? Is there a possible way? the links you posted are saying it is not possible. Is this the last answer?
