Hi
I have gotten a document library restored from a backup. A server team did it for me through a software called VEEAM. The library restored ok but it has reshared any files that were previously shared.
Has anyone been through that? Is there a way to stop that or is it just part of a restore?
Thanks
Karen

SolutionHi @laceyk,
Yes, it can happen for SharePoint Online libraries to be restored with their previous sharing settings.
This is because the restore process restores the entire library, including all of its files and folders, as well as their sharing permissions.
There is no way to prevent this from happening, but there are a few things you can do after the restore to manage the sharing permissions of your library:
If you need to share the library with a large number of users or groups, you can consider using a SharePoint group or Microsoft 365 group. This will allow you to manage the sharing permissions of the library more easily.
