OneDrive default document retention policy?

Hi

We have just started using our tenant and a few people are using OneDrive.

 

Is there a default document retention policy?

By this I mean are documents held in OneDrive forever by default?

Or are they deleted after a certain period of time?

 

(I am not talking about if a user is deleted or if a document is deleted - thanks)

There is no default policy, so documents are kept forever. Unless someone deliberately deletes them.
If you do need to keep the documents for regulatory requirements, consider creating a retention policy. Same if you have a requirement to dispose of them after some time.
