Does SharePoint Online not support SMS alerts?

According to this article, no, it does not - https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Configure-a-SharePoint-site-for-mobile-devices-ddf28727-3bfe-4b56-951d-c97204eac475?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US. "NOTE: If you are using SharePoint Online (as part of Office 365), choose E-mail. The SMS option is not available for Office 365."
