Teams screen share Labeled files

Copper Contributor

Hi,

I've been trying to label files with AIP in a SharePoint library for protection. these files will be used by authorized user for read only. But I've noticed an issue with these protected files and teams screen share.

If, as a user with read only rights wishes to screen share the file on a Teams call, it will show a black screen to the viewers on the call, this case happens when the file is downloaded on the device and opened with the Office application (or from SharePoint).

On the other hand, if the file is opened on the browser, the file appears normally to the viewers, no matter what policy the file contain.

from my testing, to be able to screen share a protected file opened with office on the device, the label must have "copy and extract", which our policy won't accept.

I'd like to know if there is an option that might've been overlooked while configuring the label, or is this feature is by default and cannot be changed?

Thanks

Nad
