VIEW ALL PARTICIPANTS IN VIDEO MEETING
We have 8 people on a daily video meeting in Teams. Default setup gives 3 or 4 video screens and then rest only appear as small icons in the bottom corner. We need it so all 8 can be seen with th...

Right, lots in this thread to unpack.
1. The 4 video view will work in the desktop app on Windows, Mac, Linux or the mobile app on Apple or Android. It is not possible in the browser. I don't believe this is likely to change in any useful time period.
2. The 9 video view is in development, and Microsoft have heard loud and clear from MVPs that it's important. As far as I know it won't be here during April.
3. The view you see will always be the students that talked most recently. If you keep your students muted and unmute to speak it shouldn't be confusing to work out who is speaking.
4. As the teacher you can select any of the students in your meeting to view their video by clicking on the ... next to their name in the list of attendees and selecting pin, once you have finished unpin to get back to active speakers.
4. Your school districts are probably wise to not permit the use of Zoom, they have a responsibility to not allow your student data to be accessed by third parties or several other risks. Look up zoom bombing if you think it'll be fine, or when zoom were sending data to Facebook without permission, or when hackers worked out how to access private meetings.
5. Teams has very good controls to allow you to keep order during a meeting, controlling who can speak, present etc. It's harder to achieve this in Zoom. Tips in my video attached.

Hi,
Currently it is 4 video streams maximum. There is a new view coming that will allow 3x3 (totally nine video streams). Unclear when this new feature will be released.

In the meantime while this feature is in development, is there a way to select which 4 people you see?
- mslexijoApr 29, 2020Brass ContributorYes! You can actually "pin" the people you wish to see. This choice is in the extended menu at the three dots at the top right, below "mute participant"

mblock yeah you can pin multiple people at a time. Just pin the 4 specific people you want to see

LinusCansby Any updates on progress? This user requested feature seems incredibly popular.
- mslexijoApr 23, 2020Brass Contributor@linuscanby yes! Very!!!

I am a teacher with 20-25 in a class, but in the COVID19 world, attendance will always be sporadic. Just a couple of days ago Zoom was prohibited for us due to security concerns. Now it's Microsoft Teams. But this is far inferior for what I need to do. I need to see all my students. I need to be able to divide them into small groups on the spot for conversation on topics, then feedback. All of this is super simple in Zoom, impossible in Microsoft Teams. (Laboriously setting up groups one by one in advance when you don't know who or how many will actually show up is truly pointless.) Microsoft has smart people. Why come out with such an inferior functionality?

When will I be able to view more than 4 participants in a video? It's frustrating to only see dots in place of people. Please release that update ASAP Thank you.LinusCansby

LinusCansby We use MS Teams to communicate with a whole classroom now, and I can't imagine this will disappear post-epidemic. What features are in the making to facilitate 32 students and a teacher?
- Patrick1066Apr 28, 2020Copper Contributor
Zoom is much better for teaching and teams of more than 4 people. MS TEAMS is a collaboration tool not a teaching tool.
Students love Teams because they know that the teacher can only see 4 videos, so in a class of 30 students the other 26 can go to sleep and you won't know they're sleeping.

How can my group at work see at least 4 people? LinusCansby
- LinusCansbyMar 20, 2020MVPIn a video meeting you should see 4 videos as long as there are 4 other participants in the Teams meeting and you haven't pinned one video. Currently I've seen some problems that only one video is shown due to high usage of Teams, but that should be solved as soon as they scale up Teams services.

Hi-trying to see all my students when I have a group of three. Is it possible? All of my students have district laptops and the Teams app on their devices. Has Teams services been "scaled up?"
Thanks
