Teams Notifications for File Uploads - without using Sharepoint

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if there is a way to get notifications solely from Teams when a new file is uploaded to a Teams folder?

I note that we can do this in the Sharepoint, which will in turn send notifications to our email addresses, but...

a) we rarely use Sharepoint

b) we use Microsoft Outlook (desktop version for Mac) and the notifications do not come through!

We only see them if we log into Microsoft 365. Very strange...

Any help/advice would be very much appreciated.
