Removing Teams app from the left rail

Has anyone tried to remove the Teams app from the left rail?

I created a custom App Setup policy without the Teams app in it (Allow user pinning - OFF), I also created a custom App Permission policy with all types of apps set to block (block all apps) I then applied both policies to my test user ... a week later the user can still see Teams on the left rail . The user also see Stream which I would expect no to be gone too as all MSFT apps have been disabled!

It is at all possible to get rid of Teams app in Microsoft Teams?

    Plamen Gavrailov  yes that is totally possible you can do it from Teams admin centers from followings;

    Teams Apps > Setup Policies > pinned apps > you can remove it from the pinned ones and then the users can be able to pin as per their own which you could specify on permission policies.

    Also, try to enable the option that says Allow user pinning

    see the attached image below;

      PDostiyar, that is exactly what I did and was expecting that as the app is not in the Pinned Apps list AND Allow user pinning is set to OFF , users shouldn't see the app in the left rail AND should not be able to pin it back onto the rail . Unfortunately that isn't seems to be the case. Sure enough the app is not pinned, but users can still go find it under Mode added apps ( the three dots beneath the pinned apps) and clicking on it, causes the app to re-appear on the left rail . It doesn't stay there for long though if you click on any of the other apps the Teams app disappears.

        Plamen Gavrailovgreat you need to then edit your Permissions policies and change this to different;

        it should be Allow All apps that will allow all the Microsoft apps to be used you can turn off that and then also turn of pinning by users so you do not want to use the Teams with MS Teams and not making the users able to pin it again.

        you can also select specific apps and exclude Teams from there.
