New Teams honoring proxy?

We use a client-side proxy.  We are finding that some Teams traffic (apps installed in Teams, for example) that used to honor proxy in the old client seem to not be honoring proxy in the new client and is instead routing direct.  Is this expected behavior?

  • DaveTheTeamsGuy No, it should follow the system proxy.

Teams 2.1 has kinda changed the engine it uses, it's now based on Edge WebView 2 rather than Chrome, so should use proxies in the same way as Edge browser. Do your apps work properly in Edge ?

How is your proxy configured, is there a pac file that maybe targets the browser ?

We have WebView2 deployed and have pretty specific evidence that Teams is sending traffic direct (including updater traffic), at least in our environment. We have a case open with Microsoft and will post here when we know more.

Thanks for that info. Apps work correctly in Edge, but we can see apps installed in Teams hitting the firewall, which means it doesn't appear to be traversing proxy. I'll have to dig more.
