H.323
i know i'm not the only professional who is still cannot believe (well i can because unfortunately this is microsoft) that H323 is not supported natively by teams rooms. i know you can get a CVI from 3rd party's, but that really doesn't solve the problem. Guest Join was finally just announced, but that is sub-par experience. you go to the trade shows and microsoft says how they want to 'play nice' with interoperability; but a decision choice to purposely silo themselves was made when skype was being ditched. if skype could support h323, why can't teams? we also have a decent amount of huddle rooms that aren't bookable spaces.... teams not having a meeting ID means that i can't turn these rooms into 'teams rooms' as their is no way to join besides booking a room.
so my rant is over, and want to know if anyone has heard if microsoft will ever support h323 natively (either in the invite or joining in a teams room).
kmcgraw There will be a new meeting code and passcode added to each meeting requests that can be used just like it is in other platforms <cough>zoom<cough>. Current date in the desktop client is the first half of July in the desktop version, I'm not sure of what date it will come to MTR but won't be far later. I also know that Microsoft are working with Zoom to bring their join by code feature to the direct-join capability on MTRs.

kmcgraw Join by code is coming soon, however proximity join will already allow your users to bring a meeting to the space by starting it from their laptop or phone on the nearby device.
As far as I know there is no chance of Microsoft adding H323, CVI is the solution they chose for integration with standards based VC meetings.
- kmcgrawCopper Contributorwhen you say join by code.... there is no 'meeting id' for teams, so what code are you referring to?
and the no chance is what i was afraid of... it really makes the conference room space a huge headache for everyone (i know you don't work for msft)kmcgraw There will be a new meeting code and passcode added to each meeting requests that can be used just like it is in other platforms <cough>zoom<cough>.
