Force teams to honor default audio device?
Is there a way to force teams to honor the default audio device instead of selecting a random audio device every time the program starts?
I have to change it every time I enter a meeting.

unfortunately ms teams is low quality collaboration tool and it does not support this simple feature. there is another thread discussing this without any reaction from microsoft tech community / developers here https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/default-audio-devices-in-teams/m-p/1649633

it settled by settings-Devices-Audio deivces plan, for example you have 2 suits(Speaker 1(S1), Microphone1; S2, M2), then, there should be 3 plan names repective for S1+M1, S2+M2, "Custom Setup" for S1+M2/S2+M1. when you choose another speaker/microphone settings, plan name will auto change. when you quit teams, it auto saved. for furthur, check %appdata%/MS/teams/storage.json - Ed WoodrickIron ContributorI believe that it uses the default communications device

Unfortunately it doesn't. It's not just me either - my workmates and I are always joking about it. You'll open the app and suddenly your monitor's speakers decide to play the meeting (in my case) while you have a headset plugged into the default audio device.
What's ever more strange is that everything else on the computer will play through the default audio device... just not teams. Manually swapping it solves the problem.
- It should be saved. Are you using the desktop version?
- grantcurellCopper ContributorEither, for me and my coworkers the behavior occurs in both.
