Can Teams or Group owners be prevented from deleting the Team or Group
We have limited our users in our tenant so that they cannot create new Teams or M365 groups. But we do assign owners to these Teams/Groups so that they can manage membership. It appears that these owners can also delete the Team/Group which I understand would delete everything (chat, files, sharepoint site) associated with the Team/Group. Can we prevent the owners from deleting the Team/Group?
- Basically no, it's part of the owners built-in permissions. You should consider user adoption and training instead. You'll still have the possibility to restore the entire team/group for 30 days if a deletion happens by mistake.
