Camera settings in Teams vs Skype?

In  Skype, under the OPTIONS wheel, there’s Video Device settings. Under that setting, you can click CAMERA SETTING, and that brings up a box with 2 tabs at the top. The one for Camera Controls allows zooming of the camera.

Under Teams, there are no options to allow you to change the camera setting for zooming or any other camera options. Any ideas?

  • Hi PrivottN

No ability to change this currently. There is multiple uservoices open for this currently

Would recommend you vote on them to push up the agenda. The team is continuing to work on improvements for voice and devices and I would hope to see this in the future. I have voted on these too

    Hope that answers your question!

ChrisHoardMVP, I found when changing the zoom setting in skype for business (camera control), the change is reflected in Teams.

There appears to be a workaround for people who have Skype. I have seen some workarounds proposed for using the camera app to change settings while Teams is open, but as far as I'm concerned this is a myth - firstly you cannot have the camera being accessed by two apps at once, and secondly it juts doesn't work. My camera app looks completely different to my Teams camera feed.
Teams desperately needs camera settings, this is really basic functionality.

The ability to zoom on the video still doesn, but there´s already a way to change a few settings of your webcam on teams, such as brightness, saturation, white balance, etc.
To do so, open the teams app> ... (3 dots right next to your picture on the top right corner)>settings>devices (on the left panel)>scroll down all the way to camera>"open camera settings"

But unfortunately the option "zoom" is greyed out over here

I hope this solution helps! 😉

bryantrovati, The Teams camera control settings showed up in the last couple of months. I think this thread can be closed. Greyed out setting may be camera model dependent. MS?
