New Microsoft Teams AMA
Event details
We are very excited to announce a Microsoft Teams ‘Ask Microsoft Anything’ (AMA) specific to the new Microsoft Teams, announced at Enterprise Connect.
The AMA will take place on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. PT in the comment section below.
An AMA is a live online event similar to an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit. This AMA gives you the opportunity to connect with members of the product engineering team who will be on hand to answer your questions and listen to feedback.

Thanks for joining us for this Microsoft Teams AMA for the new Microsoft Teams! We'll be getting these last questions answered soon.
- mariagoyaCopper ContributorHi John, is there any chance that this meeting was recorded? Would it be possible to share for those who missed the opportunity to attend? Thanks in advance, Maria

The ability to send a video message in a regular chat (i.e.) Non-Channel chat seems to have disappeared in Teams 2.0 will this return?

Video message will return.
- Nettie_1810Copper ContributorI have the new teams preview, when I try to attend an online event, even a Microsoft event, I am asked to revert back to classic teams....
- roman_frillarteFormer EmployeeHi Nettie_1810, we're aware of the issue, and are working to bring a better experience to the new Teams soon. Thanks!
- JG8675309Copper ContributorWhen a calendared Teams meeting ends early, change my status to available please. Currently Teams1 keeps me in busy status and blocks my calls.
- The only status that should block calls is Do Not Disturb. I do think that's a good idea with presence thou to know you left that particular Teams meeting early to change that status.
- JG8675309Copper ContributorPresence does not currently notice that a Teams meeting ended.

In teams when setting status and more importantly a status message, the New Teams 2.0 no longer allows to choose an expiration Time of Day in the drop down titled: Clear Status Message after. This is very unfortunate. Employees are often busy in Meetings until specific times of day and wish to communicate this to all team members who are reaching out. Is there a plan to bring this feature back to Teams 2.0?

Hey there - the plan is there! We should see this in the new Teams client by GA. Thanks for this!
- Nicole FosterBrass ContributorIn teams 2.0 - PLEASE mimic Annotate like Zoom, or have it where you can choose the default setting so people can just click annotate and draw or circle, no permissions of the host needed. In any IT support setting or conversation, telling someone to click on something when they are sharing a screen is SO much easier if you can circle it quickly. Explaining to them first how to find and give permissions to Annotate on their shared screen is a nightmare! It would be exceptional to see this change in Teams Video 2.0. This is a request from my full Global IT support team as well as our PD teams. :0)

Hi Nicole, thanks for the feedback. Some of what you're asking for can be done using the Microsoft Teams content camera feature, the Teams whiteboard feature, or, if you're collaborating on PDFs, with Adobe Acrobat for Microsoft Teams

- Timothy ErbCopper ContributorWe currently utilize Teams for our crisis / on-call departments in call queues. Will there be improvements to the general functionality of call queues, as it is a bit clunky to say the least at this time? Not being able to access a voicemail within Teams to these numbers or call history easily is an issue currently.

This is great feedback. Also we have a free template for incident and crisis management called the Teams Emergency Operations Center. It will not address your call queue issue but might give you some inspiration on other ways to use Teams in these scenarios. Suggestion: to be able to use @ tags across all meetings chats/regular chats/ wall posts & not just in the one team
- I thought about this too. Would be nice, but it's a tricky one because not everyone in a tag will be in every chat / team you are part of to see it, but it would be nice to have for those that ARE in those chats / teams at the time to get them when using a "Global Tag"

Hey Judy - Great feature suggestion! If you can submit this feedback either through 'Give Feedback' in the app, or through our Feedback Portal, that would be great. Thanks! http://aka.ms/teamsfeedback- JGarc2020Brass ContributorAll - please upvote the suggestion: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/f46c5166-1cda-ed11-a81b-000d3a7bb563
- Nicole FosterBrass ContributorI love the suggested Delayed message feature, it comes and goes with 2.0 though. I have read the KB on when it should pop up and I am not sure I clearly understand OR there is a bug and it is not working all the time when it is supposed too. I am wondering if you could just double-check the user KB you have to clarify it a bit more, or let me know if you are still working on it?
- kshah1999Brass ContributorNumber of customers now using communication compliance as well as security and compliance from M365 - specifically DLP. My observation is that Teams 2.0 does not work well with either communication compliance OR DLP - kind of hit or miss cases. When the full support of communication compliance and DLP will be built?
