Can Employee Phone Numbers Be Accessed in a BYOD Environment with Company SIM Cards?

Copper Contributor

Hello

I'm setting up a BYOD environment where employees can use their own devices at work. However, I'd like to know if it's possible to view the employee's phone number because some employees use a company SIM card along with their personal one.

It depends on what you use for BYOD management. If you are using the App Protection Policies without device registration (also called MAM-WE), see here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/deployment-guide-enrollment-mamwe   than you are unable to see any device attribute's including phone number.

If you use other mechanisms like Android Enterprise Work Profile ( https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/user-help/enroll-device-android-work-profile)  or iOS User Enrollment (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/enrollment/ios-user-enrollment-supported-actions) or maybe even some 'normal' MDM registration there might be ways to see the phone number.
