iPhone Safari - Forms link opens the wrong form?

Iron Contributor

Hi,

Bit of an odd one.  We have a couple of forms that users access on regular basis.  One form is a quick survey and the other is a hardware request.  The users are sent a link via email (short link with anonymous access) to their phones.  They click the link, complete the form and submit it - nice and easy.

We've noticed an issue recently that when a user is sent the survey link they click on it and the hardware request form opens up?  I have double checked the links are being sent correctly and on any other device it works perfectly.

Has anyone seen this behaviour before on a iPhone?  The quick fix appears to be to clear out the Safari cache but I would love to understand how clicking one URL can take a user to a completely different URL?

Very odd!

@Rob-CTL we are having the same issues with several of our students on their iPads. Even typing the link to the new form in by hand sends them to an old form! Will try your quick fix solution, but I would also love to know the answer!

@sophiegorrin no I've not managed to find any reason for the issue, the workaround is the only "solution" currently

@Rob-CTL

I had the same issue, with an old MS Form populating when I scanned a QR code.  The "old" content would display on my iPhone using Safari.  The workaround was to simply clear the Safari cache.

Clear cache and cookies in Safari
  1. Open the Settings app, then select Safari.
  2. Scroll down, then select Clear History and Website Data.
  3. Tap Clear History and Data to confirm.

Hope this is helpful to future forum searchers.
