Buggy App Launcher

On random occasions, the App Launcher will show apps from other tenants, this has been an on-going issue and was occuring before the new version was deployed. It needs to be fixed. A careful review of  the image below shows the url for my tenant (cardinalsolutions) and when i hovered over the Newsfeed app, it shows an url for another tenant (dollartree). This came to my attention because we don't have the Newsfeed enabled.

News feed app from another tenant

 Does anyone know who is the MS Program Manager is for the App Launcher? Chris McNulty

        I'd be curious to narrow this down some...it's either the session or caching.  Can you reproduce in Edge?  If so, when the issue occurs open Developer Tools with F12 and switch to Console.  In the Console enter

        ClearSuiteLinksCache()

         and press Enter.  Refresh the page and see if the problem is resolved.

  • I don't have an answer, but I'm interested in this. I've seen similar, but not the same.

    Do you have access to that other tenant? Or is it completely random?

    I've has similar in the past after logging out, closing a browser and then logging into a second tenant I have access to. I've taken to making sure I'm in private mode for client tenants as I think it's something stored in a cookie.

      Yes, i do, it is from one of my clients. They are our Partner, with Digital Partner of Record relationship.

      I see alot of bad behavior with IE 11 in-private mode, it frequently uses cookies from other sessions. Chrome's in-cognito seems to actually be a separate session.

        To be honest, I use Chrome also - along with different profiles (Employer, MS Corp, Personal tenant, MS Demos tenants) and incognito mode for other tenants, and I've not seen the issue that way. Ultimately though, my decision to switch to Chrome and profiles was to avoid this.

        I've not had a client report it to me as an issue - so I had personally put it down to being in that fairly unusual situation of being a consultant and having access to lots of tenants.

        That said, I've not been able to reproduce it reliably unless I completely avoid signing out of tenant 1 before signing into tenant 2. However tenant 1 has the new app launcher, and tenant 2 has the old one.

        How are you reproducing it?
