FAQ: Private offers - expiration. expiration/pricing updates, and changing offers mid-term
Q: A few questions related to private offers:
- When the private offer expires and the customer reverts to Public Pricing, does the publisher get notified?
- Can pricing and expiration date on an existing private offer be updated with the customer's consent, or does the ISV need to wait till the end of the existing private offer?
- Can the customer cancel an existing and accepted private offer mid-term, if so, how does that happen and is the ISV notified of the cancelation?
A:
- No. But partners can have their own notification system in place (likely though their CRM) so that the sales team can proactively reach out to the customer for an extension / renewal
- A private offer cannot be modified once accepted. But there are nuances there on how (if possible) to update the pricing during a private offer term
- A private offer itself cannot be "unaccepted" however, depending on the terms, a subscription to a solution covered by a private offer can be cancelled (i.e. monthly subscription). ISVs will be notified using the usual notification channels for the offer type (i.e. web-hook for SaaS)
