MacOS Teams - No Version Switcher and No 'Report a Problem'
I'm using MacOS Teams v1.6.00.27656 on MacOS 14.0 on my work O365 account. I do not see a toggle to switch the new Teams in the top-left of my Teams app. I also do not see an option to "Report a Problem" under the Help menu in the bottom-left (it only shows Topics, Training, What's New, Suggest a Feature, and Give Feedback).
Apple Silicon Rosetta 2 Performance issues
Dear Microsoft, Ever since the launch of the Apple Silicon machines, macOS users have been using the macOS native app of Teams via Rosetta 2. Due to that, the application is consuming a great amount of memory when compared to the Edge PWA of the Microsoft Teams web app. In my day-to-day I can notice that the Microsoft Teams app is in total consuming 2,10GB, however, if I hop into a call that number increases to 3,10GB.. If the video camera is turned on it goes beyond 3,30GB. Besides memory, there's also the battery life component where teams are my highest energy usage app on my Macbook Pro 14" with the M1 Pro chip. due to that my battery life only lasts up to 5-6 hours maximum.Additionally, I noticed during a video call my M1 Pro (GPU) is being used by around 80-90% when using the webcam. Hello all: I have the MacOS built-in notifications enabled in Teams, and they seem to be working for chats, but Teams still tries to use the Teams-style notifications to notify of incoming calls and meeting starts. Is this the intended behavior? I find that I often have a MacOS alert sitting there and cannot view the incoming call notification because it is underneath the native alerts sent by other applications. Is there a way to get ALL Teams notifications to utilize the MacOS native notifications system? Thanks! -JasonTeams reverting to old version on MacOS
There is an old discussion on this topic, but the solutions there do not help solve my issue. Almost every morning Teams will have quit itself and when I re-open it an old version has been re-installed. I have no idea where it is coming from, but I have constantly removed all references to Teams that I can find. The version it keeps reverting to is 1.2.00.6957. I have installed both 1.3.00.33671 and 1.4.00.4971 and the reversion still happens. I ran `sudo find / -type d -name "*Teams*" -print 2>/dev/null` from Terminal to search for all references to MS Teams on my machine and ended up removing the following directories: rm -rf /Applications/Microsoft Teams.app rm -rf ~/Library/Application Support/Teams rm -rf ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams rm -rf /private/var/folders/qn/8x0qv4616tx8p28q08rl2jhm0000gp/T/Teams rm -rf /private/var/folders/qn/8x0qv4616tx8p28q08rl2jhm0000gp/T/Microsoft\ Teams\ Helper rm -rf /private/var/folders/qn/8x0qv4616tx8p28q08rl2jhm0000gp/T/Microsoft\ Teams\ Helper\ \(Renderer\) rm -rf ~/Library/Logs/Microsoft Teams rm -rf ~/Library/Logs/Microsoft Teams\ Helper rm -rf ~/Library/Logs/Microsoft Teams\ Helper\ \(Renderer\) The next morning it had reverted back to version 1.2.00.6957. This pattern continues every day and every day I have to re-install MS Teams. At this point it seems to be acting like spyware. Please help.
