Calculate overlapping hours
Hello, I need to report how many hours a staff member supervised one or more volunteers. For a very simplified example, Volunteer Name Date Start Time End Time Supervisor Fred 1/1/26 1:00pm 3:00pm Lucy Ethel 1/1/26 2:30pm 4:30pm Lucy Here 4 volunteer hours were served, but because there was a 30 minute overlap, Lucy only supervised for 3.5 hours. Is there a way to get Excel to calculate that? To say: look at all the entries with matching date and matching supervisor, and add up non-overlapping time. I have had an issue with permissions for accessing files with excel, in my Macbook Air (Apple M4 - Tahoe 26.2) for almost a year now. When I insert a link to a pdf and then I try and open the link, excel does one of three things. It either warns me that some files may have viruses etc etc and when I click open it opens the file it tells me that opening the file may cause issues etc etc and when I choose to open the file, it goes into the message above (1) and eventually opens the file it asks me to grant access to the file and it shows the file path and I need to click select, then it goes to the folder where the pdf is located and I need to click grant access - but when I do, it says that the file cannot be opened. I have gone into my system settings and excel has access to my full disk and files and folders. I have googled the issue and it was suggested to give excel access to the particular folder where the files are located but I don't know how to do this, other than in system settings. I have tried clicking on the folder where the files are located when option 3 above has come up but when I click on the folder, the grant access button at the bottom is greyed out. Can someone please suggest something, as it is driving me crazy now. I have inserted the links through the 'insert', 'add a link' button on the excel menu. In broad terms, I'm on sheet 2 and wanting to show the contents of a cell from sheet 1. Basically, I want whatever is in column C of sheet 1 for the row that has column A in Sheet 1 matching A2 in Sheet 2 AND also has column B in Sheet 1 matching A1 in Sheet 2. I want the contents of that cell to show in Sheet 2. Hello, I would like to create a multi-tiered percentage-based bar chart based on the data found below (test data evidently). Column B and C add up to 100%, Column D and E add up to 100%, and lastly column F and G add up to 100%. I would like each set of variables to equate to 100% on the graph, as the source data is percentage based anyways, but all be organized in their own separate row on the graph underneath the employee name. Good afternoon. I wonder if someone can help me please :-) I have a spreadsheet that has rows of client data, what I am trying to achieve is when I click the checkbox it turns the row green. I have researched it and all the info look different to the conditional formatting I can see, I am using Excel 365 web based excel I don't see the the option 'Use a formula to determine which cells to format.' I am trying to create a spreadsheet where when a specific cell is updated in anyway, the date/time stamp automatically updates in the cell right beneath the cell that was updated. I only need to have a one to one relationship with multiple cells. IOW, I have 5 cells in a row going across. When any one of the 5 cells is updated, I want an updated date/time stamp to appear in the cell directly below the cell that was updated. So I'm looking to create a sheet that will do some food math for me. I struggle with excel and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this- the online tutorials just make it worse. I'm in vetmed and I know a lot about animal medicine but technology escapes me. I need a sheet that I can input the following info: pt weight (ideal) and illness factor (decided by the DVM on the case) and have it generate the RER (resting energy requirement) for each patient. Once this is generated, I need to be able to take the RER number and have it calculate how many cans per day each pet needs (based on the kcal per can of each diet). Is there a way that I can preprogram all the diets we offer into the sheet (like if someone types in a shorthand code, the kcal per can will populate)? Any insight would be helpful at this point. =IF(F3="","",IF(F3-G3=0.01,1,IF(F3>G3,3,IF(F3=G3,1,IF(F3<G3,0))))) My cells F3 & G3 refer to a match score, with the Result showing (in Cell AM3) being 3pts for a win, 1 point for a Draw, and 0 for losing. Therefore if F3 and G3 are equal (45-45) it does show 1 in AM3 Due to the vagaries of our sport, I also want a score of 45.01- 45 to show as a draw an AM3, hence my formula attempt in AM3:- =IF(F3="","",IF(F3-G3=0.01,1,IF(F3>G3,3,IF(F3=G3,1,IF(F3<G3,0))))) but AM3 shows the result as a Win (3pts) as if it is ignoring my initial F3 statement F3-G3=0.01.
