Edge Dev Version 137.0.3255.0 (64-bit) corrupted extensions
-After upgrade to latest version Edge Dev is reporting many extensions as being corrupt. -Repairing individually also does not resolve the issue, the entry disappears in Extension settings. -Extension icon on taskbar show as blue jigsaw piece instead of default Extension icon. -Fresh install of latest dev version also behaves similarly. -When trying to install extension from MSoft store get Error message below:
Microsoft Edge/MSN Ads on videos has forced me to stop using it
I cannot believe that Microsoft Edge's home page (MSN) now inserts commercial ads into most every video article it posts. As I try to watch the article, ads now pop up, frequently more than one. It forces me to either sit through watching the ads to read some mundane article or close the video and get off the browser. I am soooo sick of advertising trying to get me to spend money on some stupid product. I have now found myself closing the browser and not using Edge/MSN most of the time now. What a waste. At least Firefox and Google have not started doing this (yet). Has anyone else found this to be true?
Edge PDF reader comment issue
Hi all, I tumbled upon an issue with Edge PDF reader, while adding comments in a PDF document. Issue While adding comments in my document, everything was working fine until it wasn't (added around ten comments before it stopped working). Basically I'm able to open the comment popup and type my comment, but unable to validate it. I did some digging online and found this tread (sadly closed) where user encountered the same issue. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftedge/forum/all/adding-comments-to-pdf-edge-document/92b96c52-a1e3-4433-a58e-29c76691fa7c I tried to work around the issue by restarting my browser, which did not help. However, it seemed to me that it's a mouse focus issue. How to reproduce it I got the issue while using two Edge windows side by side on the same monitor (each taking half the screen), while having a second monitor (that I use for other stuff) aside. The problem seems to solve itself somehow after some time when closing one of the two Edge window and putting the other in full screen. When I try to add a comment, I first highlight the text, then clic on the comment button on the popup menu and type my comment. However, when I want to validate the comment, the wrong cursor is displayed when I hover the "validate" button (the text insert cursor instead of the hand). I have to clic once (the text in the PDF doc previously highlighted is no more) which change the cursor to an arrow, then another clic which closes the comment menu, whitout adding the comment. Workaround I managed to add a comment in this situation by typing the comment, then using the tab key to select the "validate key" and press the enter key, and it worked. On a side note, I find it quite complicated to submit feedback, I think I spent a good half an hour before reaching this forum (I don't even know if it's the right place). Microsoft seems to have recently increased the number of Edge/Bing popups making "recommendations" about how to use Edge -- "do this", "do that", "try this", "try that". If you, like me, prefer to use Edge as a working environment rather than as a billboard for Microsoft features, you can turn off recommendations by changing a flag: Type edge://flags in the address bar and press enter Type Show feature and workflow recommendations in the search bar on top Click on the dropdown menu beside the option and select Disable Restart Edge You will probably have to do this on all your Windows 10 computers, each individually. I am not sure whether or not the flag change will disable Microsoft's notifications about setting Edge as the default browser (if it is not) or Bing as the default search engine (if it is not), but the flag change will cut down on the splatter of other "recommendations".
Selective Inversion of Non-Image Elements still inverts image files.
Subject: Issue with Auto Dark Feature in Edge Canary Hey everyone, Since the release of Edge Canary v141.0.3518.0, the "Web Content Force Auto Dark" feature no longer processes the "image_behavio r/none/" line in the edge://version command line when the option "Enabled with selective inversion of non-image elements" is selected. As a result, image files such as .png, .svg, and .jpg are being inverted, which makes the appearance of web content look broken, as shown above. The current Canary version is 141.0.3524.0, and this issue remains unresolved. If anyone has a solution—especially if this is related to device or configuration-specific settings rather than a general version-specific bug—I would greatly appreciate your assistance. I have already tried several troubleshooting methods, including editing shortcuts through Properties, completely reinstalling Edge Canary, running DISM and SFC scans (which indicated no anomalies), performing a full virus scan (which also showed no issues), launching Edge Canary with specific commands in Command Prompt as an administrator (e.g., --enable-feature:...), and clearing the browser cache and history. If anyone can provide a fix, it would be conducive! Thank you! When I try to capture an image using the browser's internal "screenshot" function, I find that the resulting image is in JPEG format. Both "Capture area" and "Capture full page". This format is blurry, which is fine for photos, but for screenshots, the loss of image quality is fatal. I would have preferred to use the PNG format. At least in the Canary version, this little nuisance exists.
Edge for Android No Longer Opens Google Calendar Links in External App
I'm reporting a regression in Microsoft Edge for Android that has disrupted my workflow on a Samsung Galaxy A9+ tablet running Android 15.0. Until recently, Edge correctly handed off supported links—such as “Add to Google Calendar” URLs—to the Google Calendar app, in accordance with Android’s intent routing and app defaults. Now, Edge traps these links inside its internal WebView, even when: - “Open supported links” is enabled for the Google Calendar app - “Block opening external apps” is disabled in Edge settings - No site-specific override exists for calendar.google.com When I tap a calendar link, Edge briefly flashes a system prompt asking whether to open in the external app or stay in Edge—but this prompt immediately disappears, and the calendar loads inside Edge. This contradicts Android’s expected behavior and breaks previously functional workflows. Notably, .ics files still open correctly in the Calendar app, confirming that system-level routing is intact. The issue appears to be with Edge’s handling of intent-based links, possibly introduced in a recent update. Device: Samsung Galaxy A9+ OS: Android 15.0, OneUI 7.0 Edge Version: 139.0.3405.111 I’m requesting that Microsoft investigate and restore proper external app handling for supported links. This is a serious usability regression, and users should not have to resort to alternate browsers or workarounds to maintain basic interoperability. EDGE Broswer causing GPU Issues
Ive recently ran into a problem with EDGE. It sucks because I actually enjoy the browser over all the other ones. If the front page has any video, this causes a visual glitch on the page, then causes my GPU driver or something to "Crash" causing my screens to go off then back on. I don't have any other issues with games, programs, other browsers "chrome i tested on no issues" Here is a video of it in action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYmzUD7bHE8 if it matters here are my specs that matter for this issue Everything is less than 8 months old and under warranty, rarely used for anything other than LIGHT Gaming AMD 5950 Asus dark hero viii x570 powercolor 6900xt ultimate if it really matters samsung 980 pro "1tb" well sadly this issue just popped up elsewhere on Windows. The update menu gave me the option to download and install windows 11, the blue update img or "gif" started to flicker as it did in this video. So it seems my GPU maybe taking a crap after 8 months of little use. truly sorry i thought it was only happening in EDGE 😕Cast button in toolbar doesn't work anymore
I'm on a Windows 10 tablet and since a few weeks in all my 3 installations (Stable, Dev 141.0.3500.1 , Canary 141.0.3518.0) the cast button in the toolbar doesn't work anymore. Only option I have now to initiate casting is with: Menu-Button => More Tools => Cast Media, which is quite annoying. Could someone from the developer team please take a look into that? I recently upgraded to version140.0.3485.14 (Official build) beta (64-bit) and noticed that my PWA, even if they open correctly in a independent window, don't show the "running window counter" on the taskbar. So, for example, if a open Outlook, the window open and loads the app, but if a I click the icon again, it opens another window, wich is a little annoying. I tried removing the PWA from Edge, rebooting, and installing again, but didn't work. Because the only change I made is updating Edge, I think is related to this build. Sidebar not syncing or accepting new app additions (+). Copilot button is dead/inactive. Sidebar settings are well configured. Using the latest version of the Ubuntu OS and MS Edge. Functionality appears to be absent as product was released without full functionality....Lame!
Application Links Disappeared in Edge Settings
Greetings, I hope that you're doing well. A website that I frequently visit continuously prompts to become the default protocol handler of MAILTO: links. The previous versions of Microsoft Edge provided the option to prevent websites from requesting permission to become default protocol handlers. However, as of Edge Version 138.0.3351.65, this option seems to no longer be available in Edge Settings -> Privacy, search, and services -> Site permissions. Can someone from the Edge Support Team please confirm if this option is available somewhere else? Screenshots are attached. Thanks in advance for your help!
