Hi all, I tumbled upon an issue with Edge PDF reader, while adding comments in a PDF document. Issue While adding comments in my document, everything was working fine until it wasn't (added around ten comments before it stopped working). Basically I'm able to open the comment popup and type my comment, but unable to validate it. I did some digging online and found this tread (sadly closed) where user encountered the same issue. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftedge/forum/all/adding-comments-to-pdf-edge-document/92b96c52-a1e3-4433-a58e-29c76691fa7c I tried to work around the issue by restarting my browser, which did not help. However, it seemed to me that it's a mouse focus issue. How to reproduce it I got the issue while using two Edge windows side by side on the same monitor (each taking half the screen), while having a second monitor (that I use for other stuff) aside. The problem seems to solve itself somehow after some time when closing one of the two Edge window and putting the other in full screen. When I try to add a comment, I first highlight the text, then clic on the comment button on the popup menu and type my comment. However, when I want to validate the comment, the wrong cursor is displayed when I hover the "validate" button (the text insert cursor instead of the hand). I have to clic once (the text in the PDF doc previously highlighted is no more) which change the cursor to an arrow, then another clic which closes the comment menu, whitout adding the comment. Workaround I managed to add a comment in this situation by typing the comment, then using the tab key to select the "validate key" and press the enter key, and it worked. On a side note, I find it quite complicated to submit feedback, I think I spent a good half an hour before reaching this forum (I don't even know if it's the right place). Anyhow, I hope it can help137Views1like1CommentComment icons in the PDF reader are too big and cover text
Hi all, recently, the comment icons in the PDF viewer have gotten fatter and now they obscure the text I would like to read (see the pictures). Is there a way to make them smaller, move them, or revert them to their former glory? It gets annoying having to guess the intended words. Does anyone have some feedback on this behavior? Why and when it should happen? Hi, I am using Edge Version 106.0.1370.42. Whenever I download a PDF file and open it in Edge, it will give the error as per the link below. However, if I open the file using a PDF reader or other browsers, the PDF file can be opened with no issue. https://imgur.com/a/WIUOXxS822Views1like1CommentAfter every update of Edge, all PDFs open in Edge, not in PDF reader
Since the launch of Edge as browser, Windows 10 / 11 resets the default PDF reader to Edge with every single update of the Edge browser, the PDF application default is reset. I've applied registry fixes multiple times to open my PDFs in Foxit reader (it could be Acrobat or any other PDF reader of your favor..), but nevertheless, it goes back to Edge defaults over and over again. I need to reset the PDF reader via de Windows explorer settings, opening a PDF with alternative viewer... The Windows settings > Apps > Default apps interface does not save the settings, you can check the .pdf file setting, but Edge keeps in place, an other app is not saved. Does any one have a hint or a suggestion to fix this once and for all? Rgds, Peter3.8KViews1like5CommentsEdge not rendering PDFs properly
Hi all - I'm on Edge 93.0.957.0 (Official build) Dev (x86_64), on Mac OS Monterey (12.0 Beta (21A5284e)), and for the last few versions of Edge have been experiencing a PDF rendering issue with Edge's PDF reader. Regardless of the site I'm on or source of the PDF, all PDFs are rendering as shown in the attached. I've tried viewing the PDF in an InPrivate window, to rule out any extension issues, but I get the exact same result. Any advice appreciated!2.7KViews1like0Comments
