Please, bring back the "Microsoft Edge rounded corners" option
Hello As of today, the "Microsoft Edge rounded corners" flag in edge://flags/ no longer works (the option is disabled to revert to the old appearance). Since Microsoft no longer gives users a choice in appearance, they're trying to force us to switch browsers... ?? No more option to hide the Extensions button in the toolbar, a display bug for over a month regarding the color of the buttons in the title bar (black instead of white like in Windows), etc... Please MS, bring back this option And is there an "flag" (to add to the shortcut, for example) to restore the old appearance ? When installing MicrosoftEdgeBetaEnterpriseX64.msi (current Version 77.0.235.20) I get following MSI Error 1722: Product: Microsoft Edge Beta -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. After some investigation I found out, that the configured EdgeUpdate Policy results in this Error. Update-Policy as follows: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate] "UpdateDefault"=dword:00000000 "InstallDefault"=dword:00000000 "AutoUpdateCheckPeriodMinutes"=dword:00000000 To solve the MSI Installation Problem I had to delete the EdgeUpdate Policy prior to start the MSI-Installation: reg DELETE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate /f This seems to be a bug which should be fixed. The UpdatePolicy configures the Automatic Online-Update behavior - but should not result in MSI-Errors when deploying the Package by on-premise software-distribution Solutions.Whatever you do, don't update. v144.0.3712.0 and 144.0.3713.0 can't stay running
Having issue with three Server 2016 machines and a Windows 11 Canary machine. Avoid allowing it to update if you can. Last few weeks have been pretty unstable anyway with "no background" new tab option not retaining between launches, url launches from other apps not always actually going(new tab is created, url is present, but have to physically click on address bar and press enter, or on an already existing tab, having to reenter the url more than once to get it to navigate). But 3712/3713 is a literal "can't stay launched"
M365 account automatically drops from Edge sync on iPhone (works on iPad)
I'm experiencing a critical sync issue with Microsoft Edge on iOS where my primary M365 account will not remain signed in for sync. The Problem: When I attempt to sync settings, my most important M365 account does not appear in the list of available accounts I can manually "add another account" and successfully authenticate The account briefly appears in the sync settings Within a few minutes, it silently disappears and Edge reverts to a default profile No error messages are shown - it just vanishes What Makes This Unusual: The SAME account works perfectly in Edge on my iPad (same iOS version 18.0.1) The account works fine in other Microsoft apps on the iPhone (Outlook, OneDrive) I am the M365 administrator for this account - there are no restrictions, conditional access policies, or authentication blocks The account does NOT appear in Azure AD sign-in logs when this happens, suggesting it's using iOS authentication broker Troubleshooting Already Attempted: Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Edge multiple times Cleared all browsing data, cookies, and cache Signed out of Apple ID and back in (to reset iOS keychain) Removed iPhone device registration from Azure AD and re-registered Re-authenticated through OneDrive using Passkey (temporarily worked, then reverted) Cleared Safari website data for all Microsoft domains Reset network settings Signed out of all Microsoft apps and signed back in Restarted iPhone multiple times Device Information: iPhone model: iPhone 15 Pro Max iOS version: 26.0.1 Edge version: 142.0.3595.53 iPad (where it WORKS): iOS 26.0.1, same Edge version Expected Behavior: The M365 account should remain signed in for sync, just as it does on my iPad. Actual Behavior: Account drops after a few minutes with no error message, reverting to default profile. This appears to be a device-specific authentication broker issue between Edge and iOS on this particular iPhone. Please investigate why Edge cannot maintain the authentication session on this device when the same account works on my iPad.
Can we add "duplicate current tab" function in Edge mouse gesture?
It seems like the mouse gesture in Edge don't have "duplicate current tab" function. By the way, the current shortcut of "duplicate tab" is not convenient to use for me. Fresh install, forgot recently changed passwords
Ive locked myself out of my accounts linked to prettey much all. The account recovery page isnt very helpful, already failed 2 requests, tried phoning to speak to an actual person, some AI gave me the web address i had just used and now hangs up on me with no option to speak to anyone real. Can anyone from microsoft help me with this? Frankly the AI you guys are using atm is terrible, i need to speak with a real person so i can actually verify and get my accounts back.
Video Super Resolution Missing Options in Setting
Enhance videos in Microsoft Edge (Flag: #edge-video-super-resolution) is missing critical options in setting, making it impossible to function properly. In Version 136.0.3240.29 (Official build) beta (64-bit), as well as the previous beta build, it is missing the option to choose from three methods of video enhancement, as shown in screenshot. Here is the setting from latest beta build: This is how it is supposed to look: Thus, beta build defaults to Microsoft Super Resolution and I can't find a way to use graphics driver enhancement like RTX Super Resolution, which is critical to my experience. Also, HDR is no longer supported when video enhancement is enabled, which I believe is a limitation of Microsoft Super Resolution.Most Pointless Browser Ever
This browser is by far the worst I have ever used. May be called Edge because it's on the edge of extinction. Take me back to Netscape Navigator. This is without any doubt the absolute slowest browser ever designed. Get rid of all the extra crap that nobody wants or needs. If this browser could be removed I would do so. I am going to switch to Chrome and I hate it almost as much.How to prevent the frequent "Confirm your account details to sign in" in Edge Browser?
It seems there has been a changed between Edge 116 and 117 and I am trying to find what this is to see if there is a GPO setting that controls this behaviour. The issue is that navigating to a site would previously display the pop up "Confirm your account details to sign in" only the first ever time you access a certain site, however, this has changed with Edge 117 and this seems to happen every time accessing the same site now. Rolled Edge back to 116 and confirm the behaviour doesn't happen, and upgraded to 118 and confirm it does what 117 does. Looking to find what setting I need to tweak to arrest this behaviour as it is causing issues. Thank you
[Wayland] PWAs no longer appear as separate app windows — all group under main Edge icon
Hi, Since around 2025-09-07 to 2025-09-10, I’ve noticed that on GNOME (Wayland) all installed PWAs (even across different profiles) now appear grouped under the main Edge browser icon in the GNOME Shell dash/taskbar. Previously, each PWA would open in its own window group with its own icon. This is still the behavior in Chromium/Brave/Chrome, and can be restored there by editing the PWA’s .desktop file to set: StartupWMClass=<same value as Icon> However, Edge now seems to ignore StartupWMClass completely on Wayland, breaking workspace separation and making task switching hard. Environment: Ubuntu 25.04 GNOME 48.0 / Mutter (Wayland) Kernel 6.14.0-29 Intel Iris Xe GPU Edge (latest stable, observed post 2025-09-13) Repro steps: Install any PWA (e.g. Outlook, Teams, Spotify) from Edge Launch it (from any profile) Observe that it appears grouped under the main Edge browser icon Expected: PWA shows under its own icon and window group like in Chromium-based browsers Actual: All PWAs are bundled into the main Edge window group Editing StartupWMClass in the .desktop file no longer helps This regression makes PWAs much harder to manage on Wayland. On Linux systems running Wayland, Microsoft Edge Stable exhibits incorrect titlebar click behaviour. When the window is maximized, a single left-click on the titlebar incorrectly triggers a restore-to-windowed-state action. When Edge is in a normal (non-maximized) state, single-clicking the titlebar causes unintended small positional movements , as if a drag or snap gesture were initiated. This behaviour does not occur in Firefox, nor did it occur in older Edge releases . It appears specifically when Edge is using Chromium’s client-side window decorations under Wayland. Attempts to configure Edge to use system (server-side) titlebars — including the UI toggle (“Use system title bars and borders”), launcher flags (`--force-system-title-bar`, `--gtk-version`, `--enable-features=WaylandWindowDecorations`) and `.desktop` override configuration — do not resolve the issue. This suggests a hit-test / event-targeting regression in the Chromium Wayland + CSD (client-side decoration) path. Additional Notes This matches the known open Chromium issue regarding misaligned hit-test regions in GTK4 CSD under Wayland . Since Edge now defaults to GTK4, the incorrect click detection is being triggered before compositor-level decoration logic applies. Firefox, which uses server-side GNOME decorations under Wayland, does not exhibit this behavior.
bing chat keeps using wikipedia as a source
Not sure if this is post-worthy but I thought I should share to see if anyone else is having similar issues. I use Bing chat quite frequently to give me a starting point or inspiration for writing essays (I don't full-on copy and paste because that would just be cheating lol). Sometimes Bing chat will list one of the sources as Wikipedia, and I'm sure all students who have had to write an online essay know teachers don't like it when you use Wikipedia as a source. So, I try and add to my responses, if it uses Wikipedia, "don't add/use Wikipedia as a source." Here is where my problem begins: even when I explicitly tell the Bing chat not to use Wikipedia, it will still use it. Or it will use Wikipedia as a primary source for the entire paragraph which is frustrating. My question is: is there possibly a way around this? Hiya! I was directed here from the Microsoft Support Community as I was told that there are developers in this community. Here is my issue, any help would be SUPER appreciated. Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it. The issue I'm having is related to updating the Edge app in the Google Play Store on my android 7 phone. In the Play Store, when I go to update either Edge or Edge Beta the option to update is no longer available and instead in red text it says "This app is no longer compatible with your device. Contact the developers for more info." I have emailed the developer at the email address provided in the Play Store, I have also submitted feedback several times on both apps, but with no luck, and with no response. I posted my issue in the support community and was directed here. I've read online that I should clear the Play Store Cache and app caches and have done so. I've also updated my phone. I haven't uninstalled and reinstalled the apps for fear that I won't be able to reinstall them at all due to the compatibility issue. I understand from reading online that it's probably related to my phone only being android 7 and that in the latest updates to the apps the developer(s) probably set the minSdkVersion to something higher than Android 7. I understand Android 7 is an older version and I've had this issue with other apps but they always clear themselves up, either on their own or with a quick email to the developer. Sidebar not syncing or accepting new app additions (+). Copilot button is dead/inactive. Sidebar settings are well configured. Using the latest version of the Ubuntu OS and MS Edge. We can steal the session token from Edge using tools like Burp Suite or Fiddler to intercept proxy traffic on the mobile phone, even when the Edge is MAM protected by Intune. This makes the Edge browser unsafe to use for Enterprise Applications on personal mobile. Recently I discovered that the https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/conditional-access/concept-token-protection in Conditional Access Policy. However it is only available for Windows. I am wondering if anyone knows when it would become available for mobile on Entra roadmap. Also, if you know any Edge configuration, I could use to stop Token Theft, please let me know!
