- mylogi88Brass ContributorAny plans on further dependency implementations like available on Project Desktop, like lag from Start date, etc.?
- sidhant_rahiCopper ContributorHi Marina, Hope, you have checked out the advanced dependencies like Start to start, start to finish, finish to finish which are live in Project for the web. we are looking at effectively prioritizing enterprise features... can you help us with this survey https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=v4j5cvGGr0GRqy180BHbR1OvUA7nnfFIvhslqRMb4yNUQ0hLTENPTDgySTBSTTQ4NUhFS1dRV01WRC4u

We just shipped advanced dependencies. We will continue to enhance dependencies in Project for the web.
- carlosnogueiraIron ContributorHi, I´ve sent several messages about implementig lead and lag times in advanced dependencies but had no response from the Project Team. Do you have an estimate of the deployment of this feature?
- sidhant_rahiCopper ContributorHi Carlos, Hope, you have checked out the advanced dependencies like Start to start, start to finish, finish to finish which are now live in Project for the web. For your asks on lead/ lag, your feedback is taken and we would be looking at prioritizing it.

- gerdwalterCopper ContributorAny plans to restrict team members with a project license to not change anything in the schedule? If they do not have a project license they can just update progress. But these shouldn't be controlled by licence assignment.

Thank you for your feedback. Can you please share more information about the ask/scenario? Are these "read-only" users with project license expected to perform any actions in other projects?- gerdwalterCopper ContributorThey should only be able to update progress for tasks assigned to them. Like if they do not have a project license. So the default of a teammember should behave like that. An option for the team member could allow them to do the same as the project manager
- Ian BrucknerIron ContributorGoals... with yet another license you need to purchase... things that are just included from the competitors. Awesome concept, though. It's a shame it's separately licensed.
- RobynGua
Microsoft
We are including Project Goals as part of your Project license and you can learn more and track progress through our roadmap item linked here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Microsoft%20Project. You'll also see more about upcoming integrations with Viva Goals in a video coming later in the AMA.- Ian BrucknerIron ContributorIt will be nice to see documentation around that. All the things I could find in Tech Community posts seemed to imply they were inextricably linked to Viva Goals... and still, inner-project goals are nice, but not the same as showing team members how their project-level work corresponds to tiered organizational goals and strategy as I've been shown by others in my org as possible in competitors like Asana.
- MACBrass ContributorAny plans for an Enterprise-level custom field?
- sidhant_rahiCopper ContributorHi Mari, Yes, it is one of the top asks from our community and we would be looking to Prioritize it. Please check out our M365 roadmap for updates on the timeline.
- sidhant_rahiCopper ContributorHello all, Am Sidhant, part of the Project product team, a request to the amazing community, please help us understand your needs and challenges better by filling this small survey. - Hughes818Iron ContributorMicrosoft...I plead with you...please go back to the drawing board regarding your Task/Project/Portfolio management offerings. The current vision is way too complicated. You're losing favor with a lot of users right now...and the Shadow IT for other solutions is just accelerating. One tool, personal tasks, team tasks, projects, portolios, agile, waterfall, reporting, etc. Think in terms of a 10 year-old getting a big Lego playset as a gift...and easily turning things on as they need them...but one playset...not 7 or 8...that is my last attempt to help you see the light :).
- MarcelKrumstrohCopper ContributorNeeded Feedback to Project Issue: We have an issue within a Cloud Flow regarding Project. We want to set Task Start dates for Project Task with the Scheduling Engine. We integrate the logic as recommend by Microsoft with Unbound Actions and Delays. The issue is that we got the Error "You cannot directly do 'Update' operation to 'msdyn_project'. Try editing it through the Resource editing UI via Project." but we don't do an Upgrade directly. We have multiple Support Calls without any solving and need fast support regarding this issue in an PROD App of our client.
- flak23Copper ContributorSame problem we experience for 2 weeks now 😞
- NadinMerali
Microsoft
Are you using Schedule API to make the change ->https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/project-operations/project-management/schedule-api-preview- MarcelKrumstrohCopper Contributor@Nadin: Yes we are doing this. And we are doing this in an Apply to each for 5 projects and 4 of them run successfully. Only one Project failed.
- John_HooverIron ContributorAre there any plans to be able to add external resources as assigned personnel to Planner tasks? Such as if I want to track project action items that are the responsibility of the Customer to complete? It would be great to be able to tag both myself and a customer, external resource name on such action item Planner tasks.
- DanEngelsmeierBrass ContributorWe do this by inviting the external resource as a "guest" user in our tenant. They are added to the relevant Microsoft Team and access their Planner tasks through there.
- Brian-SmithBronze ContributorThis should work if the external resource is known to your system John - unless you have it locked down in some way.
- John_HooverIron ContributorMy organization has very strict security controls because of the nature of our work. Getting someone added as a "guest" is a very high lift. Ideally it would be possible to simply create a "generic" or "material" resource that I can custom name and add to the Planner plan without needing to add a full profile of any kind.
- M_DizelBrass ContributorIn the previous demo, adding hours for an assignment outside of original dates seemed to remove hours from the assignment above. Is that the expected and desired behaviour?
- sidhant_rahiCopper ContributorHi Martin, Are you referring to reducing the hours from 200 to 120 for the resource "anirudh" in the demo video .... and summary efforts are reducing from 600 to 520 ? yes, this is expected. if not this, can you elaborate what u mean by this?
- Adrian_Jenkins
Microsoft
I don't recall the point in the video (I'll have to watch it again) when the hours were removed from another assignment. Let me see what I can find.- NivevCopper ContributorThe project timeline of pervious task is shifted due coz task #1 is started after task #3 is completed. Hence changing timelines of #2/#3 impacts task #1 by default. If there is any dependency on a edited task, all the related task's timeline will be updated.
