Cursor keeps on switching from normal to loading
- Jul 17, 2025
This option is not available in the latest version (Microsoft Word for Microsoft 365 Version 2506 Build 16.0.18925.20076) of Word. It seems to be related to having an image in the header for me because if i delete the image it stops cursor flickering issue. This is a new problem though since i have been using the exact same word template (with same header image) for years without this problem. I have tried re-inserting image and changing image, and re-sizing image. I also tried changed the word-wrap settings and positioning settings. nothing solves it except deleting the image from the header completely.
Turn off the dynamic cursor in Word's Options→Advanced→Display, then update your graphics card driver.

This is not a solution, it is a workaround that reduces the functionality of a program that a few months ago was working just fine. Microsoft introduced a bug, took my money for the subscription and released a worse version than I had previously. Microsoft Quality Control is lacking either through negligence or deliberate action, all the while demanding billions in licensing and subscriptions every month from customers. This is simply not acceptable or professional.

Removing the header image does seem to stop it. Problem is, the image in the header is needed for the finished document.

I don't seem to have that options.
I have found out a couple of things. I'll edit the original post.
