Windows 11, multi-monitor issue - Cursor jumps to closest corner of above monitor.

Here is every monitor setup in the world that will have this issue on Windows 11:

The issue is when moving cursor to the top pixel line of a monitor, if there is no monitor above, the cursor will be teleported to the closest monitor corner above. This is considered a feature added in windows 11 but it is a grievance for all users.

Example when cursor move to any of the red dots it will be teleported to the Red Arrow in the image.

*Left side

*Right Side

Note yellow X marks that (there is no monitor Right of top monitor) its just how windows 11 works and don't show you.

We have multiple work stations all with multiple monitors and similar display layout for our specific work optimization, windows support work is part of this.

We have reported this a number of times but Microsoft don't seem to take this serious or throw this issue aside/remove the post confused with another post that notes cursor teleporting to a specific X,Y position, or jittering around, note this is not the same issue.

It impacts all work, applications, desktop usage, entertainments, especially window mode.
Why is majority of function at a teleporting line at the top?
The one who added this & designed this needs to be replaced with an actual UX developer.

*Web tabs are at the top.

*Steam options at the top.

*Outlook search is at the top.

*Right side on every single program.

You try to close the program? no you get teleported away from button.

How to Replicate?

On any windows 11 2x monitor configuration.

1. Place monitors like in image.
2. Move cursor to wards yellow line from below.
3. watch cursor teleport to red arrow.

FYI: I wont add computer details to this post as it is redundant and not the issue.
It is not a driver or any other issue then Windows 11 that is configured to move the mouse to the closest screen corner above.
*Anyone asking for such information should be treated as information gathering bots/Servicedesk or not knowing their job.

Go to and disable the (Ease cursor movement between displays) function at the location:
Settings > System > Display > Multiple Displays > Ease cursor movement between displays.

*If you have a wireless mouse.
Turn it off after i changed the setting and turned it back on, it was solved for Domkamp this way.
(On/Off didn't solve it prior to changing this setting)

  • I was experiencing what I think was the same issue, and although I couldn't find anything online about it, other than this post, I eventually found a solution.
Go to Settings > System > Display > Multiple Displays > Ease cursor movement between displays.

DayLit Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this so eloquently. This stupid 'feature' was about to cause me to lose my mind. I seriously hope whoever came up with this idea is fired and blacklisted from the IT community forever. They have no business anywhere near technology, although I have to give them credit for including a toggle. Thank goodness they included a toggle.

How is this a feature? Does anybody know what it's supposed to do. Does any human want a mouse cursor that jumps to a different screen than the one your moving your mouse to? For the life of me, I cannot imagine what this was supposed to be useful for.

Why is this turned on by default?!?
It makes life with multiple monitors hell, especially if you're doing something like...oh I dunno MOVING THE WINDOW SLIDE BAR UP AND DOWN.
Seriously did none of the developers stop and think for one minute that it might be annoying.

and programs I use that have the toolbars at the sides become almost unusable.

I had to google to find out that this was even something that was able to be fixed, just to find out it was a supposed 'feature'

I resolved the issue by fixing the loose and tangled port connections(HDMI)

      Noteable mention;

I just experienced same issue, but unchecking was not sufficient.
However, I blame that to the fact i'm using a wireless mouse. When i turned my mouse off after i changed the setting and turned it back on, it was solved.

Thanks for putting together a detailed description. Definitely a "feature" I can't wait to disable.

I've been using Windows 11 for 5 minutes and it's a super annoying bug.
