Windows 11 update No Wi Fi

I did an update on my HP Pavilion to Windows 11 (which I regret).

It forced me to update after needing to set up a new user on my laptop for work purposes.

Once it had done the update, it gave no option to connect to Wi-Fi. I plugged it into my router so I could use the internet and that even had a hard time noticing it had hardware connection. Once the router is plugged in and working, it then gives me the option to use Wi-Fi again (sometimes!). Once I close the lid, restart or turn the device off, the issue returns again. I have noticed that when I restart the device, the tray in the corner shows the option for Wi-Fi for a few seconds and then disappears again.

I followed the advice given on various site including this one.

Reset network settings (Not fixed)

Deleted the driver and reinstalled. (Fixed temporarily, came back after restart, sleep or shutdown)

Clean booted (Not fixed)

Went to go reverse it back to Windows 10 (does not give the option to anymore)

I have no means to completely wipe my laptop and start again (I don't own an external hard drive). I cannot take my home hotspot out with me and plug it in every time I need to use my laptop.

Anyone able to shed light on how to actually fix this? Or is it a bug that I will have to wait to be fixed in a new update months down the line? Is there a service anyone can recommend to get this sorted?

Have you turned off the Wi Fi router from the power supply for several minutes to automatically reconnect to the computer?

You can reset network settings: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset. This will reset all network settings to their default values, including Wi-Fi.

Just wondering have you tried one of them usb wifi sticks to see if it works with one of them, depending on how old your laptop is it could be windows blocking the driver, there is an option in windows security centre under - device security - click on core isolation details then there is a switch to turn off microsoft vulnerability driver blocklist you could turn off and see if that fixes the issue after reinstalling the Wi-Fi driver again but if not I’d turn it back on just to be safe but yeh if u can get your hands on a cheap Wi-Fi stick try out that and see if that works instead of the built in wifi…
