Just wondering have you tried one of them usb wifi sticks to see if it works with one of them, depending on how old your laptop is it could be windows blocking the driver, there is an option in windows security centre under - device security - click on core isolation details then there is a switch to turn off microsoft vulnerability driver blocklist you could turn off and see if that fixes the issue after reinstalling the Wi-Fi driver again but if not I’d turn it back on just to be safe but yeh if u can get your hands on a cheap Wi-Fi stick try out that and see if that works instead of the built in wifi…
