Windows 11 not prompt for user and password on network fileshare
Hello,
I have a problem thar only occur on Windows 11 on my environment.
I have a network folder that sharing some files, and on the security sets, it's only allowed access for local adminsitrators group in the server (that server are a standalone not joined in my domain), and when a tried to access the network folder "ex.: \\MYSERVER\Folder$" the explorer not allow me to enter user and password and immediatly denied the access.
The temporary solution that i found e set security to "everyone" access and modify that files folders;
Again it only occur with Windows 11.
Someone can Help?

Hi, It is very old post, but just for the sake of documentation:
gpedit.msc (admin)
Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Network → Lanman Workstation
- Enable Insecure Guest Logons
- Find and double-click "Enable insecure guest logons".
- Set it to Enabled.
- Click OK and exit.
- Restart Your PC
- This resolves consistent password prompt and consistent password prompt for shared folders too. It did for me. Cheers
- Enable Insecure Guest Logons
