wdf01000.sys - Huge amount of ISR's occurring, causing system instability/input delay - Latencymon
Hello everyone,
I have been having issues with my freshly built computer and am looking for some help.
I feel like I have tried everything, fresh windows install, checking drivers, compatibility, BIOS settings, the list goes on. I cannot seem to find what is causing this.
Right now, I have a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro and Latencymon downloaded. I cant even load up multiple edge tabs and move them around my two screens without Latencymon identifying issues.
Computer Build Specs;
1. ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-A WIFI (ROG STRIX Z790-A GAMING WIFI | Gaming motherboards|ROG - Republic of Gamers|ROG Global (asus.com))
2. Intel i7-13700k (Intel® Core™ i7-13700K Processor)

5. Corsair H150i closed loop cooler 360mm (iCUE H150i RGB ELITE Liquid CPU Cooler (corsair.com))

If you think its possible that I/O connections may be causing this than I can provide specs on this also. Overall, running 2x1440p Samsung 144Hz monitors both connected to GPU. SteelSeries headset/keyboard.
This setup should be more than capable of running anything I throw at it realistically. However it seems to be stuttering significantly when multitasking between the two monitors. Latencymon identifies this process "wdf01000.sys" as the most impactful latency wise.
I can provide test results once I am home and looking at PC.
Any suggestions welcome! I am frustrated with the troubleshooting. I feel like I have searched everywhere, people identify the same issue but no solid resolution that worked for me. I have tried every system test I could think of, Cinebench R23, Furmark, HWMonitor, monitoring temps through that and corsair cooler dashboard. System stability seems ok other than this latency issue for normal use. There are use cases where I have been running system stability tests and trying to move windows around on the other monitor and that when the stuttering etc. is noticeable. This somewhat makes sense though.
There was a brief moment where disabling hyper threading in BIOS made a difference but I shouldn't have to disable this on a fresh build with updated bios?
Is it possible that my setup is suffering from not having a better CPU and it just cant handle the load?
Much appreciated.
