have 2 MacBook Pro's with 7700HQ running Monterey and BigSur wasn't as big deal as I worried... BigSur ran a lot better than Catalina
have VMware Fusion 12 on both and that's my dead-end with WIn-11 so I guess I'll need to eventually drop WIndows apps for the apps I haven't wanted to buy for Mac or just am used to, and look to Linux more deeply.

Or you could just run Windows 10. I believe when you use fusion your processor is emulated to that of another, it might be worth checking with vmware…
