Reset TCP/IP stack. Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:

netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
ipconfig /flushdns

hmm, it didn't really resolve the main issue of what I suspect is not retrieving IP address from dhcp correctly during bootup, but short term yes.

Then I might as well run ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew
