A app called 't' always tries to prevent reboots and shut downs. What is it?
Whenever I try to reboot or shut down my laptop, for a few seconds I see this message:
t
This app is preventing you from restarting.
I've looked on the task manager but I can't find any apps named 't' running on the background, I've also done a full scan for viruses, nothing.
Any ideas? Thank you.
SOLUTION : Do you use Logi Options+ , in my case problem was Options+ when I uninstall it and install Options (which is older but have no issue with shutdown) problem solved.

XBlue27 thanks a lot for that info! I was about to reinstall my windows because i couldn't find why this dumb error was happening and I was worried it could be some kind of malware!
Unfortunately i'm going to have to live with this until logitech fixes it.. My device does not support the older version 😞

- AndyM1420Copper ContributorIt's ridiculous that this problem still exists, its over 2 years old. It's just really poor support from Logitech and for me that will factor in to my decision making going forward. If you go back to the older software it keeps telling you to upgrade. Come on Logitech get your act together!

AndyM1420 I agree, but I seem to have cured my installation. Win10, Logitech K270 & M705. I uninstalled Options (keeping Options+) and disabled two instances of LogiBolt in Startup and the "t" app was still delaying shutdown. I then uninstalled LogiBolt and that seems to have solved it (having tried just a few Restarts). Using one receiver and the keyboard and mouse are still working.

EliasPoveda Hi, I also have this issue. Have done scans and nothing comes up. Did you find out what application or process it was?

hi, i have that too but only on my Mx3 with Unifying device on my laptop.
I also have a Mx3s on my main PC via BOLT device and that one doesn't show the "T" upon restart & shutdown.
Just went through some uninstall procedure as instructed by logitech support, it doesn't happen all the time though.

Hi, please download this tool - I'm curious if it detects something?

Same issue here - Windows 11 21H2EliasPoveda
- krassigioCopper ContributorI have exactly the same issue. Windwos 11.
- Ethan_GarfinkleIron ContributorTry to look through windows services to see if you can find anything. If not click restart anyway if all work is saved. This should help.

I've been seeing this app T and an unnamed app slowing shutdown for about a week and it's driving me nuts. BitDefender found nothing.
Just installed Avast Premium and scanned my 😧 Drive where I put my data separate from C: Avast picked up 2 viruses: RTF:CVE-2017-0199-J (Expl) and Win32:MiscX-gen (PUP). Am going to remove and see what happens when I restart Windows.
- MattS27Copper ContributorOh well, removing these did not get rid of app T and the uknown app. Continuing to scan

I am running Windows 10 and the same app is running on my system nothing shows up in registry. I did find 4 links to software that had been deleted so deleted those. Will do a reboot after this post to see if that helped.

Ok, just rebooted that cleaned up the issue and it also rebooted faster than it has since this issue happened. Try something like CCleaner or another program that will clean your registry of unattached links.
