802.1x wired network profiles missing after upgrade to Windows 11 24H2
Your 24H2 update occasionally leaves the wired 802.1X profile missing, so Cisco ISE rejects the device and your script restores connectivity. Treat the script as containment, not proof that ISE or the profile is faulty. The native design is to deploy the wired profile centrally through Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Wired Network (IEEE 802.3) Policies, or through an Intune wired-network profile, rather than depend on a local copy. Verify that Wired AutoConfig is enabled and only one policy source owns the interface. Before the next pilot, export the working XML with netsh lan, record gpresult, and collect Wired-AutoConfig operational events before and after upgrade. If Group Policy reports success but the profile disappears, open the Microsoft case with those artifacts and setup logs. I found no public Microsoft documentation identifying this as a general 24H2 known issue.
