200% Scaling issue on 24H2

Hey,

Well since the 24H2 update, I have a strange issue. On booting when entering windows, my cursor and desktop icons are very large.  If I check my scaling, it says 200% which is recommended and usually fine, but if I change to another value then back to 200%, then it resolves, pointer and icons go back to normal. If I restart, then the issue remains resolved.  If I shut down however then power back up, it will repeat. This happens every single time

I am using a HP Spectre X360 14inch convertible. These issues have only arrived with 24H2

Hello, I have the same problem on a Surface Pro 11 with ARM64 and a Qualcomm GPU. So I think this problem comes from Microsoft itself. I have seen many posts about this issue, but no statement from Microsoft yet?!

For me it is up to date, since 3 months we did try everything, even with INTEL.

We did try the one from HP web site and also from INTEL web site the newest one.

If you do not disable fast-start from Windows 24H2 setting, for the time being you can not solve the issue.

We did also clean install again Windows 24H2, this is a bug for HP Spectre Laptop from 24H2 for the moment.

Unsurprisingly this was one of the first things to be done, it makes no difference. Many others users are noticing this since the update, on various devices across vendors. It may well be a driver issue, but can only be resolved if intel works with Microsoft and the affected vendors. So far Lenovo and HP seem most affected. It has occured to all of those affected to update their display drivers as a first step.

  • Click Change high DPI settings and check the box for Override high DPI scaling behavior. Choose Application from the dropdown. This can sometimes help resolve scaling issues for individual apps.

      Hello,

This is not an application based problem. By the start you have a very big mouse curser and also sceen is big.

If you go from recommended 200% scale to 175% and come back again to 200%, the problem gone.

If you also disbale fat-start or re-start the laptop, the problem is gone.

So this start after 24H2, before there was nor problem.

      Any suggestion?

      Hello,

This is hapening on start-up, it is not an application based problem.

If you start the computer, first you see a huge mouse pointer and then you can see that the screen is very large.

When you change scale from recommend value (200%) to for example 175% and come back 200%, everything corrects itselfs.

Or if you restart the laptop also you can not see the problem.

If you disable fast-start, the problem also solved, so it happens only on fast start.

      Any comment?

    Hello,

I did start a conversation with INTEL regarding this issue, because I am thinking that it is linked to graphic driver which used in the system.  But they did request from me to do a lot of things, where I am not so much software and hardware friendly. Maybe you can join also the conversation and check their requests . Here is the link and what they did request latest :

Please generate an SSU report to help me further analyze important details on your system. To generate the SSU report, please refer to the article: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057926/memory-and-storage.html. Please send us the generated SSU.txt file.

Kindly share a screenshot of the issue as it appears on your screen, this will allow us to better understand and visualize the issue.

To confirm, have you tried adjusting the https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/make-windows-easier-to-see-c97c2b0d-cadb-93f0-5fd1-59ccfe19345d Size?

Thank you for the advise, but even with 175% scale it is not easy to see the texts on 14 inch screen. I found another way, if you disable the fast boot of the computer, the problem is fixed. Here with the link, how to disable fast boot :
