Title column renamed for every Lists / Libraries on the tenant

Question

Hello experts,We're on SharePoint Online (using modern experience) and noticed that the Title column had been automatically replaced with "Artefact ID" for every newly created Lists / DocLibs on every site collections.&nbsp;I can see it because if I check the column settings from the List settings, the URL indicates&nbsp;&amp;Field=Title&nbsp;&nbsp;I think it must be something with the Content Type Hub feature that has been altered but if I check the settings there I don't see any reference to that "Artefact ID" column (?).&nbsp;I'd basically like to restore the Title label instead of "Artefact ID".Any help would be welcome :)&nbsp;Thanks

Hello All,&nbsp;Thanks for your inputs it helped us identify the issue and along with MS Support Engineers we managed to fix it.&nbsp;It was actually that a Custom Content Type had been created on the ContentTypeHub site. We just updated the CTH then republished.&nbsp;For the CT that was not listed in the CTH, we checked the CT ID on one of the subscribing site and used PnP-PowerShell to restore it on the CTH, then republish it, unpublish it and delete it properly.(It turned out it had been deleted before unpublishing).&nbsp;PS C:\WINDOWS\system32&gt; Connect-PnPOnline https://mytenant.sharepoint.com/sites/contenttypehub -UseWebLoginPS C:\WINDOWS\system32&gt; Get-PnPSite

We had someone do that in SharePoint 2010 - they thought they were changing the display name of a list column but instead they had clicked too far up the definition chain and changed the actual site column instead.

I'm not familiar with the Content Hub, but where you're going to want to look is the definition of the title field in the site content type of Item. You need to find the parent of the Item Content type, which is also called 'Item' - it's a Site Content Type. Eventually you'll find your Artefact ID that you'll rename back to Title. It should prompt if you want to change everything. I'm not sure, though, how the hub controls that.

Maybe start with your custom content type definition, then go to its parent.

Thanks for the pointers!&nbsp;Here is what I notice :On Every newly created Site Collection (=linked with O365 group)Site Settings &gt; Site Content Types, I haveArtefact CT Group containingArtefact CT&nbsp;with&nbsp;Item as parentArtefact CT has Title column renamed Artefact IDTitle column has Item&nbsp;as sourceItem&nbsp;source has Title renamed to Artefact ID as wellThere is no option to delete the Artefact CT&nbsp;On the ContentTypeHub Site CollectionSite Settings &gt; Site Content Types, I have:No Artefact CT Group nor Artefact CT µBUT if I go to any Site Collection on my tenant and check&nbsp;https://tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/mysitecollection/_layouts/15/contenttypesyndicationhubs.aspxI see:Subscribed Content Type:ItemArtefact CTWhich leads me to think that at some point the CTH has been configured to broadcast Artefact CT&nbsp;to all Site Collections but since then that configuration was removed.&nbsp;And probably the modification was made at the Item level since both Lists &amp; Document Libraries have the issue.&nbsp;So 2 questions arise:How can I revert the situation for existing Site Collections?How can I make sure future Site Collections will have the default settings (Item + Title column)I think the problematic is quite close to the one developed in this post:https://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/8517/site-content-types-screwed-up-how-to-restore-to-default&nbsp;Thanks for your help,

Is someone in your firm doing some work with custom solutions? If not, that is a bug and you should open a ticket with MS.This type of problem could be caused by a poorly designed and tested Site Design script or PnP provisioning script.

Not that I know, we use the out of the box and try to avoid customizations.I thought about creating a Support Request in the first place but since its clearly linked to inproper configuration, I'm not sure they will help..Let's give it a try though..
