SharePointon prem self site creation too slow!
Hi,
I got an email where a customer write that every time a user login for first time to the on prem sharepoint the "My site" takes closely 10 minitues before the user can open the site.
The only the user sees is the message informing that the site is being created and it takes at least 10 minutes to be done.
Before I go to the customer I qould like to know where should I look in order to make this process faster. There is no custom webparts or custom designs applyed in the My site site collection, is pure out of the box. The only difference is that the users uses a windows form authentication to login but I don't think that it is why its take so long time.
Best regards

- I would recommend you to check the farm performance and also the configuration...another thing that could help here is to "warm up" your my sites by means of a script that access the my site early in the morning so when the user access to it, the experience is faster

Thanks,
Do you have some sample of a script that could "warm up" my sites?
I was thinking if incrementing the ram memory of the sql server would help, what you think?Regards

- A quick search over the Internet can provide you some samples:

In regards of increasing SQL Server RAM memory I would advice first to check the configuration: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/administration/best-practices-for-sql-server-in-a-sharepoint-server-farm
