Sharepoint designer - Server error: Access denied on modern site
I created a Modern teamsite using the "+ new site" on the SharePoint home. I am the owner (even site collection admin). I SharePoint designer I do not seem to have all permissions. For example I am in the "_catalogs/......../Display templates/Search" map. I create a new folder. But when I want to delete the folder I created it gives me the "Server error: Access denied".
What can be the problem here? SharePoint designer options are all ticket, Custom scripts are allowed on this tenant (for a year already). I do not have any clue.

- I think this gets into how we are not given a "full" sharepoint site, instead a shell of the sharepoint site, with all kinds of restrictions that arent really well known.
I would like to see the site be turned into a full-fledged sharepoint site, i think MS has gone a bit too far on the spectrum of taking away power/customization/capabilities in the name of protecting users from messing things up. this also has hamstrung users that knew what they are doing.

For now I created an old-fashion sitecollection, created a modern page and set this as startpage. Works for me at the moment. I was not able to solve the initial problem.
How do you choose to create a modern team site or a "traditional" one?
