Sharepoint designer - Server error: Access denied on modern site

Brent Ellis I think you are right.
For now I created an old-fashion sitecollection, created a modern page and set this as startpage. Works for me at the moment. I was not able to solve the initial problem.
How do you choose to create a modern team site or a "traditional" one?
Salvatore Biscari I create a standaard site collection with team site template. Then I create a new page (modern) and set that to the site's homepage.
So you don't have the option to create a modern team site straight from the + sign in the SharePoint landing page, do you?
- I don't still have that option...remember there is a workaround to start the modern team site creation wizard :-)....could it be (in regards of SPD problems) that you are accessing with a user that is not a site collection admin and it's just a regular user (Site Member) in the Modern team site? (I have no tested this by the way)
