Set homepage of Hub Site as default landing page from "mycompany.sharepoint.com" url

Several of our clients are looking at making the transition from the Classic to Modern SPO experience. Under the assumption that we will use a primary hub site as the starting point for our Intranet, we've been unable to find how to point the "mycompany.sharepoint.com" request to the default page for the hub site in question. I'm likely missing something simple but would appreciated any direction I can get on this.
