Require check out on document libraries not working
I have a document in a library. The library has versioning and require check out enabled. When some people open it, they get the yellow check out required box (image attached). When others open it, they don't see it. They all have the same permission levels. They want it to show, and I can't figure out what the inconsistency is.

- Are you sure that when they open it they don't already have it checked out and haven't checked back in yet so it doesn't prompt?
Also they are opening in office client and not online? Might need to force it to open in client as well for the library.- Kaylee GossCopper Contributor
I watched them do it a couple of times. They did not have it checked out and they were opening it in the client. I couldn't figure it out, so I just convinced them that they didn't need checkout functionality anymore. Thanks for your suggestions, though!
